Home Ice Advantage
Which teams really take advantage of having a home game traditionally. To add some spin to it, which arenas are hardest to walk out of with a win?

Roseau Memorial Arena is probably the toughest to win in over the past few years, maybe ever.

Bob, how many times does Roseau face a team as good as them? Is it a tough arena to play in or is it the home of a tough team that plays at the arena?boblee wrote:Roseau Memorial Arena is probably the toughest to win in over the past few years, maybe ever.
Give me the .500 team that has an awkward venue over the perennial power. Minnetonka's home arena used to be tiny. Do they still use the same one?
Truth is most of the state will never see Roseau's home rink for a high school game. Not many teams make the trip.
I played once on the iron range at a rink that is underground. Can't remember if it was Eveleth or Virginia or where. That thing HAS to be tough to play in for a visiting HS team.
Be kind. Rewind.

Long drive, small, cold arena. Small, cold, underground locker rooms. Spells disaster for any visiting teams.O-townClown wrote:Bob, how many times does Roseau face a team as good as them? I went up there my junior year and the locker room was so crammed that we had to take turns getting dressed. The Weight Room wrote:i wouldnt say the locker rooms or the arena itself are too cold or small. long drive though? definitely.boblee wrote:

Still tough, but the teams haven't been what they once were so that can make a difference. Make sure you wear your Sorels.Tigerpride2 wrote:Although I've never been to a game there, after reading the book blades of glory i hear Elk River is a tough rink to play in. Any feedback there? has it struggled in the past few years as ER hasn't been quite as good?
DE at the DECC? undefeated at home.
The size of the arena makes the DECC a somewhat sterile environment for all but the biggest games of the season, but this year East has certainly controlled their home ice very well. Which is a very good thing, considering the section tournament is there.
