kids on my oldest son's team have broken two Easton S17s since Christmas, how are they holding up for everyone else?

I was at the sports shop the other day. They said they're having problems breaking.

What problems are you seeing? Where did they break?

3 in 2 weeks, Easton has replaced all 3. the break has occurred at the bottom of the shaft all 3 times. Couldn't take this no longer and purchased a Bauer Vapor XXXX, no problem there

6 kids on my son's team have broken theirs in the last month all in the same spot. Easton admitted they had a problem and I was told they were reinforcing the area on their next batch of sticks. Only time will tell.

Of all the sticks my sons have had only the XXXX has broke in the first month of having it. All the others lasted atleast one season, well except for the XX that broke in have from being between the kid he was checking and the boards.

The XXXX let loose where the shaft and blade come together.

I've seen 5 break from 1 team. I even saw 2 break in one day. Every S17 i've seen break was near the bottom of the shaft, just like everyone else.

All you kids out there should give the good old wood sticks a try. You'll like the results better, and your parents will like the price better.

Wood stick

Post by WoodStickSniper »

I would have to agree the wood stick is the way to go less expensive especially when mommy makes you pay for the sticks now

the only drawback is that the blades get softer quicker and there heavier

but i think i feel the puck better with a wood stick

the latest from Easton is that it will be the middle February before they have a new batch ready to ship out, they have offered Stealths and, just this week, a Synergy as replacements for people who need them before February

neighbor kid got his replacement (he's 12 ) stick 8 days ago. two practices and three games later it breaks as he is knocking down a slapshot in a game. Broke in exactly the same spot as the one before. the good news is that it did it before his second warranty is up (Easton did tell his family that they would warranty the replacement stick for 30 days, but that won't help him for playoffs)

well...every kid on the MGSA that has had an S17 (4 or 5) has broken in the same spot. It sounds like Easton is shipping a new version...has anyone heard this?

My sons "new" version broke after 2 games - in the same spot as the last one. Maybe 3rd times a charm!
