Edina vs. GR/G

4-1 GR/G this one won't be that close.

I am going with Lightning 5-3. I know Edina is going to come north and do everything they can to win two games, but the Lightning are as hot as any team I've ever seen.

Again,

I was close in saying 4-1, you guys obviously called off the dogs after the first period

3-0 lead going into the 3rd, that is just good work! I wouldn't want to be Cloquet tomorrow, i'm willing to bet Edina lets out some aggressions.

Lightning 3
Hornets 1

Fun game. Announcer was terrible, tough to hear what he was saying...I only have the GRG goals...

1. GRG, Erickson 1:26 1st
2. GRG, DeGrio (Erickson, Gallop) 6:42 1st
3. GRG, Gallop (Erickson, Arola) 9:39 1st

Shots were 24-23 in favor of Edina. The Edina starting goalie saw two shots and let them both in and got yanked.

I think it will be a pretty good hockey game. Better than the games GRG has played lately. Both Crookston and Roseau have very good clubs this year. I think GRG will win both games because of depth and team speed, but I wouldn't be real surprised if Crookston and Roseau both kept the games real close, maybe even stealing one.

GRG is pretty tough.
Two wins is my prediction.

GRG vs C-Town

Watched GRG VS Blaine on the tube last night, very talented team with depth. Crookston will have their hands full but the Hanson sisters will dictate the physical play and help upset GRG 3-2.

The Pro
Zrust (Blaine) exposed GRG's defense. Could the defense be the downfall for GRG on Friday?
C-town has some key injuries, but this will still be a great game.

GRG doesn't have a defensive problem. Lauren Zrust is simply an awesome hockey player. Also, don't forget that the coaches were at that game, and watched it on TV. There is no doubt that they have been and will be working on playing the puck carrier and not the puck. Should be a fun weekend. I like GRG 5-2 both nights, but the games could be a lot closer and I wouldn't be surprised. Two good teams heading over to Coleraine.

GRG definately doesnt have a defensive problem. that is a ridiculous comment. I have been to all of alex's games and GRG has had the best defense too date. They didn't give alex much space. Not to mention that havel is also strong. Ill take GRG in both games..
and after having watched the GRG/blaine game on fsn, I'd have to say that zrust is just that good of a player, not that GRG's defense is weak.

It wasn't mean't as a "statement" or a "fact"......it was just a question to stir the pot, because I saw Zrust split the defense and/or walk around them at least 3 times. I know GRG has good defense. They wouldn't have the record they have without good defense.

yeah, I know, but did you see the moves she made and the speed she had? I found them pretty impressive.

I don't know about the fastest - and she IS fast - but I haven't seen too many that combine her speed AND deceptive puck handling skills. Great combination to have!

I have never seen a girls hockey player with those wheels, those stick handling skills and such a weak supporting cast. I am not saying Blaine is a bad team, but there is no one on her squad that is in the same league as her.

She's definately fast. Not sure she's as fast as Marvin or Roberts was in highschool?

GRG is now ranked #2 in the state, behind Roseville, according the the most recent LPH polls.
What are their chances at making a run for the state title in a few months?

I'd say pretty darned good. They've shown steady improvement all season and as you note they've climbed all the way to No. 2 in LPH.
