Yes, I read the post and I've seen the Edina Squirt A team play and they are excellent but to SUGGEST THEY HAVE A CHANCE against any Pee Wee A team--which was undoubtedly the suggestion of the post, is absurd. I stand by my post.O-townClown wrote:Did you read his post? It doesn't say they could beat "any" Pee Wee team. Obviously they could beat some. Knowing what I know, I think this includes some rumdum A teams.Hockeyguy_27 wrote:Also, anyone who thinks the Edina Squirt A could beat any Pee Wee Team in state is sorely mistaken. The difference between 10 and 12 year old kids is quantum---no matter how many magical Bernie clinics these squirts have attended
He merely asked how many could they beat. They'd beat a number of the low B programs.
How many PW teams could the Edina Squirt A's beat?

whatever
Absurd? I bet they'd beat a fair number. There are some lowly associations.
Doesn't matter because they aren't playing any of them, but you are dreaming to think every PWA team would beat them. Should I get you a map?

Good for themblondegirlsdad wrote:Saw them over the weekend - destroying everyone they play. They call the dogs off in the first period and still end up winning by double figures to what are decent Squirt teams. It's a scary team.
They are squirts................don't get too excited
Enjoy being with the kids and keep their little egos in check (parents too). Some will be very good high school players. Some may play college. A handful of them may never make their high school team.
The numbers are high in Edina's youth program. Hurt feelings can happen, ie Bellows incident.

I don't need a map. I've read some of your posts and think you should keep the map--it might come in usefulO-townClown wrote:Absurd? I bet they'd beat a fair number. There are some lowly associations.

Edina Squirts: 0-48 for sure
Hockeyguy, okay... the Edina Squirts couldn't beat any Pee Wee teams.
Geez, do you see how stupid that sounds? Obviously they can beat some. Perhaps even some at the A level. Bury your head in the sand further.
The thread isn't one you would have started, but there certainly isn't anything inherently wrong with speculation.
Who do you think would win a fight between Mighty Mouse and Aquaman?

how many pwa teams could the edina sq. "a" team beat ? I am sure some. Maybe they could even beat a few bantam "C" teams.
Just think how many "mite" teams they could beat - certainly all of them.
I bet if the U of M womens basketball team put hockey gear on, the edina sq. a team could beat them as well.
These kids come from one of the largest youth hockey assoc. in the country and their numbers are funneled into one sq. a team.
coming from a small assoc., I could honestly care a less how many peewee A teams your sq. A team . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .anyway . . .
why an I even replying to this post

Edina SA's
After today's performance by the Edina Peewee A's, I say the first team the Edina Squirt A's take on is the Edina PWA's....

Don't underestimate the PWA's they just had a bad game... I think that they will come out on top in the end of the season.

My speculation
I've given this a lot of thought and bounced my best guess off a few others. I'll take a stab at it.
Edina's Squirt A team could beat:
Edina's Squirt A team could beat:
- 100% of the state's Pee Wee C teams
35% of the Pee Wee B teams
10% of the Pee Wee A teams

Edina Squirts
Clown - I guarantee if these quirts played 1 Pee Wee A team they would come away with injured players and lose......I don't care how good they are, the physical game of Pee Wee A's, B's and C's can be pretty impressive. You have to get close to the net to score. That plus having the size of Pee Wee forwards and centers around the net would not be fair......
This is my last comment on this ridiculous subject.........in the hockey realm, the Edina Squirts are a good team that represents their town well....but are totally a non-factor

Who are the worst 10 PWA teams (out of 102) in Minnesota?
Detroit Lakes
Sauk Rapids
Johnson
Austin
New Ulm
St. Michael/Albertville
Eveleth
Hutchinson
Hallock
Redwood Falls
"come away injured and lose" to Redwood Falls? On what do you base this statement? Have you seen them play?
Redwood Falls lost:
8-1 and 9-0 to Albert Lea
9-2 to Mason City
17-0 to River Lakes
10-1 to Alexandria
11-1 to Sauk Rapids
13-0 to Mankato
How bad is Sauk Rapids? They lost:
8-0 to Little Falls
10-0 to Elk River
10-0 to Brooklyn Park
6-0 to Andover
10-0 to Coon Rapids
10-1 to North Branch
14-0 to Blaine
Have I at least established that they could beat Redwood Falls? Get serious. That team is horrible.
The question isn't whether or not they could beat one Pee Wee A team (they could, obviously... and so could other Squirt A teams). The question was (and is) how many Pee Wee teams could they beat?
I'll stick by my guess above. Anyone sticking to the "they couldn't beat any" mantra better do a good job of explaining to me how Hallock or St. Michael would get the job done in this hypothetical game.

Yeah Bash, do you think they'll win the state tournament?Bash Brother wrote:Will a game like this ever happen? No, so stop arguing about it. Besides, who cares, the important thing is how many squirt A teams they can beat come play-offs.
