Speed skating is an endurance sport, he is not the fastest sprinter on his team, that would be Joe Gleason. Fastest hockey skater is usually seen when a player skates 100-150 feet. Not around a track a ton of times like speed skaters.HShockeywatcher wrote:Well, I believe the topic should be about the quickest skater, but being that it's about the fastest skater, that would probably be Anders Lee. Until a couple years ago he was a top speed skater in the country...

He skated on an oval. Not sure he is one of the high school hockey players in the state with pull away speed. I know he is not faster than his teammate Gleason.

Have you ever watched the NHL's "Fastest Skater" competition.... It's one lap around the entire rink... Last time I checked, a hockey rink is pretty much an oval. This thread is too broad for anyone to be certain who it actually is.breakout wrote:HShockeywatcher wrote:Well, I believe the topic should be about the quickest skater, but being that it's about the fastest skater, that would probably be Anders Lee. When Hell freezes over, I'll play hockey there too
I understand your point. There is a different form and stride for oval skating vs. hockey skating. I am confident Joe Gleason can beat Anders down around the rink.lampthelight wrote:Have you ever watched the NHL's "Fastest Skater" competition.... It's one lap around the entire rink...
