Pretty close but I don't think burnsville has the depth of Jefferson or Rosemount (Rosemount had Jefferson beat- just couldn't finish)

Didnt Jefferson beat Rosemount 5-3 and out play them. Pretty sure thats what happend. Yes Rosemount is a good but everyone cant jump on the wagon since they beat AHA.

I picked Rosemount to win Section 3AA awhile ago. I think the top 5 on my picks will look like that all year.

While many seemingly rational people will argue with you, I will not.

You have them in the right order too.

I'd 2nd that, but after the win by the Cougars over the Twisters, I may move them up one more.
6-10 I'm not so sure about :?

roseau

Post by the dangsnipe »

I don't get how Roseau can not be number one after losing almost no one and having not lost yet. Edina is good but as of now Roseau deserves it. Edina almost lost already granted it was a good Burnsville team but if Edina is that good they should not have a slip up already

Just because Roseau won last year, it does not mean they automatically gain the number 1 spot. I believe that Edina has the strongest team so far this year so that's why I have them ranked in first.

And who has Roseau played/beat this year?

I will give Roseau credit for having a great 3 game run last year to finish the season. That doesnt mean we all should genuflect at the mention of their name this year. Capiche?

Well they beat TRF 4-2 and Totino 4-0 who lost to Mahtomedi (no dis to the Zephers), so after they play a team like B-ville or Edina or HM or Tonka then we shall see if they are deserving of that spot, as for now I think the top 5 are pretty good.

roseau

I understand Edina is a very good team I am just saying its hard to move Roseau after having almost their entire team return to have more experience this year. I just think they have the upper hand at the moment.

Edina moving up

Post by Pucknutz69 »

Easy......Strength of schedule.

Seriously though, how much do you feel that it comes into play? Look at the games Edina plays week in and week out. Every game is a fight. Roseau comes to the tournament pretty healthy. Look at SEC conferance every game is tough, hard fought, knock down drag out. These teams are beat up and you got Rouseau and Hill playing a patsy schedule 15-1 games, no wonder they come in full of themselves.

I was curious about injury status end of last year. Don't know Edina's before they lost to GR. Maybe they were pretty beat up. I know Roseau lost one of their top forwards when he broke his ankle against Moorhead in section championship. Injuries certainly can have an impact.

Edina's first excuse of the year as to why they won't win state. And December has just begun.

This is high school hockey. Quit watching so much ESPN.

Boomer Rosemount is a great team but I think you are confused on the Jefferson game, they didn't have them beat, Jefferson played very well and won 5-3, next time may be a different story.

3 game run? Wasn't Roseau 29-2 Last Year?? I think they had a little more than a 3 game run last year. They deserve to be #1 until somebody knocks them off. Capiche?

Roseau has an easy schedule compared to Edina and Edina is performing just as well against their oppents so they deserve to be number one. The rankings are not based on how well Roseau did last season. They are based on this season and Edina has proven more then Roseau so they are number one. Capiche?

These are my personal rankings. I try to do these every Sunday. It's just for fun and I encourage others to add what they think they rankings should look like.
