Maple Grove - Rogers
If you can't beat 'em, then sue them. Right CNT.

An average Cambridge A team is a huge step for the program. They beat a few ranked teams earlier in the year and in the games they have lost they didnt lose by much. And in reference to you comment on the weak D10.
AA state winner
2000- Blaine (District 10)
2001- Elk River (District 10)
2002- Holy angels (private school)
2003- Anoka (District 10)
2004- Centennial (District 10)
2005- Holy Angels (Private school)
2006- Cretin-Derham hall (Private school)
Before last year the only district that was able to win the crown besides the private school teams all came from district 10...looks to be like a tough district to me.

Cause tons of people go there... plus i'm talking about the state high school winners. Also reffering to the high school coach when I bring up the topic of the A peewee team. When people talk about D1 commitments from high school players why dont they go to the college forum. Same difference. Catch my drift?

I said D10 at A PW is weak this year, not that the district isn't tough. That is why an average team this year is nothing to get all excited about. Thanks for the update on the state championships though.nipe 6 wrote:An average Cambridge A team is a huge step for the program. How do u conclude that a A peewee league is weak this early in the season? Just curious cause theres always players coming and going and players get better and what not you know what i'm saying. Anyways we wouldnt want to make people read an extra 2 or 3 posts on youth hockey so if you want to keep talking feel free to email me.

Lol just wanted to add my two cents in this since I played for Cambridge and played through there highschool. Their highschool team is weak and will be for a while. Their coach is a good discipline coach using the same old systems they have been running since smeakar. And there youth program won't be good until they take the parents out of coaching. There is one or two good youth coaches there. There ya go.

what graduation year were you?
smekar has been the only good high school coach cambridge has had
burrows was good at first and ziebarth is decent at best he does not know enough about the game or systems
i have heard from players that they have had better peewee coaches
cambridge success the last 2 years where because of strong teams and good leaders mainly chumley who i am told was basically the coach for the last 3 years also leaders like akers auth lindgarrd and goldsmith

Ahh I won't go ahead and say when I graduated. But I know all of those coaches and the highschool won't get far unless they do get a new coach. The old style of dump and chase doesn't really work anymore lol. And for chumley coaching the team....not to sure about that, but they had some good players but really they play in the miss 8 now. And for the last two years didn't look to impressive. Maybe it will this year. And I believe the peewee A coaches aren't parents of anyone on the team. Although I did say there are one or two really good youth coaches in Cambridge who want to drive their kids to win and excel in the game. The rest just want to have fun...

Only Chumley would say that he was "basically the coach."one shot shotty wrote:what graduation year were you?

Bluejackets recovered with a win over Princeton which tell me that Princeton is terrible..Bison playing Monti this weekend not sure who Rogers plays but if both win it will set up a great game Tuesday for control of the conference...
Have not heard from CNT lately, can anyone tell me how Rogers is doing?

Well HOF maybe you need to spend a little more time in mission control?? and fire up that Atari 800 laptop more often??:lol:HOFam'r wrote:Have not heard from CNT lately, can anyone tell me how Rogers is doing?

Rogers is 3-3 and does not play this weekend.
The team has been dealing with multiple injuries since the 2nd game, but I hear that everyone will be back for the game Tuesday against the Bison.
They've won against Waseca, Monticello and Irondale, and lost to Armstrong, Maple Grove, and what turned into dissapointing loss against Coon Rapids.
As I had said early on this team would have to find a new indentity this year, with the departure of a large group of Sr's. including their goalie.
That said..
There has been a lot of mixing of line combinations in an effort to see what seems to produce the right mix of player styles, and I think this should be expected.
Each of the three goalies have got starts and the results have been mixed, so my guess is we could see that continue until one of them really out shines the others.
Next week the Royals face Buffalo on Tuesday, North Metro Thursday, and Minnetonka on Sat. and then it's off to the GCC tourney where they will face St. Cloud Cathedral in round 1.
They have the pcs to be a good team, they just all have to get healthy at once, play as a team, and they will have a fine season.
GO!! ROYALS!!
there were 3 coaches on the CI team last year, akers auth and chumley, they motivated everyone and taught more to the players last year than ziebarth(the head coach) will ever even know about hockey, the man is a idiot that doesnt deserve to coach a mite team, cambridge had a chance to hire a good coach but the athletic director convinced the comittee to keep it local and hire ziebarth, he wont be fired so cambridge is screwed for a long time. They had one assistant that was a very good coach, but he was smuthered out by you know who, and left after one season and that was a very large disapointment to a lot of the returning players thats my two cents about cambridge hockey
Looks like the conference is down a bit this season after a fun season last year. Buffalo dominated Monti last night and does appeat=r Rogers is having much trouble either with conference foes...looks like a two team race...no one else appears to have chance...STMA is a long way away and Monti is heading backwards again. CI may get better but Buffalo dominated them in run time as well...Princeton and BBL look very light in the talent department.

may be a little rough on the coach at CI. he has had alot of me players the last few years. plus intil the youth program is A's across the board he will not have the talent to consistently compete, including the youth kids comng up. it will be great for this so called good Apeewee team to play A this year and B next, not. the association is just as much to blame. in my opinion.
The A Peewee team this year will be playing A Bantams next season. The coach in my opinion should have alot of control over the association. And since he has been coaching at the high school level for around 10 years he obviously isnt pushing hard enough to get there.
How is their team selfish? I think its been one of the most unselfish teams they have ever had.
