Top Players from Every Grade

Post by scoreboard33 »

Noe that most rosters have been made, who do you think the top players in each grade are?

EDIT These are just my rankings, I want to know what you think of them and who you think should be on them and who shouldn't and if any more players should be listed. I just picked 3 forwards, 2 D and one goalie. Please add names. This isn't meant for me to just show off and name good players in every year and show my ego by thinking you wan't to read my opinions, I want to hear the names of great players and why you think they should be on the lists. Sorry for not making it clear origally.

Here is my list.

Seniors
F-Tyler Barnes- Burnsville
F-EDIT: John O'Neill- Anoka
F-Adam Mueller- Roseville
D-Cory Fienhage-Eastview
D-Jake Gardiner- Tonka
G- Derreck Caschetta- Edina(partially because his defense is so good)

Juniors
F- Zach Budish-Edina
F-Danny Mattson-AHA
F-Josh Birkholz- Blake
D- Aaron Ness-Roseau(may be accelerating classes but i'm counting him as a junior)
D- Mark Delude- AHA or Nick Leddy-EP
G-Mike Lee- Roseau

Sophomores
F- Ryan Walters-STA
F-Alex Fulton-Breck
F-Charlie Taft-Edina
D- Nick Schmidt- St. Cloud Cathedral
D-Jordan Johnson-Hill-Murray
G-Ryan O'Shea- Eastview

Freshmen
F-Max Smith- Eastview
F- Brady Loew- Rosemount
F- AJ Reid- STA
D-Shayne Ciernia- Breck
D- Max Everson-Edina
G- Anze(?)- Blake

I don't know Anze's first name or if I spelled his last name correctly. If anybody coud help with that, that would be great. I think Schmidt stayed at Cathedral, however I am not sure. I think that Mattson left for NTDP, so I left him off the list.

When the Geocities player rankings come out I psot them here as soon as I see them.

Now I'm not saying I get to see a lot of the cities teams, so I'm guessing it's probably the same situation here where this guy sees all the cities teams and then roseau. How about Jake Youso from I. Falls. Sorry, that's all I got.

Did I really see O'shea from Eastview mentioned? WOW, all I have to say is that is a shame that someone sees anything in him. He is a goaltender who will be laughed at right out of the HS ranks. He has/had the potential but was run thru hell and back last year and will continue to be abused as a HS goaltender until they find another goalie to abuse in Eastview. Like Brigl they will abuse the starting goalie and play them every game until they are burnt out and when it comes to playing a sophomore you cannot do that. I hope to god Drey and Bart are smarter than that but I doubt it. Expect him to be burnt out half-way thru the year and used goods by half way. Sorry O'Shea but you are not goin anywhere and its due to the school you go to. Much like I apologize to Tyler Brigl (a classmate of mine) for the lack of support you received.

He's an average goalie at best anyhow.

Birkholz and Hanowski are very good players and I felt bad about leaving Hanowski off. Phillippi vs Caschetta was also very hard and I choose Caschetta because he has a better defensive team. I have never seen Ambroz play but he probably should be on the list, After having seen Reid, Loew and Smith play last year, I couldn't decide to leave one of them off so Ambroz jsut got screwed because I haven't seen him play. I am from the cities and probably picked mostly cities kids because I have had more exposure to them than the north, however it seems that the north doesn't have the star quality it had last year. They lost Marvin, Christian, and White, all who were very top tier players. This year they seem to have more high quality players, but less stars. Jake Yuoso and Justin Jokinen are two that I considered for seniors.

mark alt should be in there for sophomore defenseman, he was the second overall pick in the USHL futures and Johnson from Hill-Murray was invisible in the CDH vs Hill scrimmage, while Alt was the best defensman on the ice at times.
