The Best Bantam Team Ever

What year had the best Bantam team ever? include record, championships, where their players have gone on to, and anything else you wish to include.

The '01 Centennial team. Amazing. I remember watching them...

State Champs and I believe some sort of national championship or something? Not totally sure. Maybe not. But they were a team full of great players and went on to win the high school state tourney in '04.

'90 Jefferson. The team that eventually went on to be one of the greatest or maybe the greatest team in Minnesota high school hockey history in '93, with a good portion of the players receiving college scholarships.

Jefferson I believe it was 1990, they were something like 54 -1. The only game they lost was the national championship game. Team had:

Brian LaFluer
Nik Checco
Nic Pankratz
Mike Crowley
Ian Peterson
Matt Jones
Mark Parrish

and countless other bigtimers.

Also, Shattuck's team back in like 97 had the Parise's, Hirsh and too many others to list.

Edina a couple year ago, with buddish, everson, baker was right up there too

90 Jefferson team! I have never seen a better Bantam team ever.
Even the Budish team didn't compare to this group.

Would the best team also have to win at least the Bantam state tournament to qualify??
Did a little checking in the Mn Hockey handbook and in the back part they have the State tournament winners and runner up. Jefferson had a great streak in the 90 and won the state also in 93. How about Grand Rapids winning in 87 and runner-up in 88 and 89. But as much as I hate to admit if you look back far enough and I would believe that Edina 5 out of 6 years from 67 to 72 would have to include 3 teams and they did not make the finals in 69. Won in 67,68,70,71 and 72. A little farther back Eveleth won in 52,53 and 54 with I Falls runner-up in 54,55 and 56. One great year is fine but I would believe 2-3 years is really doing great.

From an outsider standpoint lets get this accurate on who was on this team. If you are stating the Jefferson 1990 Bantam A Team here that was 53-1 and lost the National Championship game here is the team. Keep in mind all of these players completed their careers @ Jefferson HS that played on the Bantam A team and went 28-0 in 1993 @ the HS level for JHS. There were others but they didn't complete their careers @ JHS. Those coaches at the youth and HS level knew what they were doing with the Jefferson program back then. Does Joe Bianchi have the magic coaching the Jefferson PWA's for his second year in a row after his coaching of St Louis Park varsity with Tim Donahue???

Dusty Anderson - Ferris St
Cory Peterson - Peterborough Major Jr
Brian La Fleur - U of MN
Mike Crowley - U of MN

Nick Checco - U of MN
Matt Jones - Jefferson
Joe Bianchi - U of Wisconsin
Cort Lundeen - UW River Falls
Jon De St. Hubert Gustavus
Ian Peterson - Colorado College

Randy Koeppl - Jefferson

'90 Jefferson team by far.
No team will ever get close to that Bantam team.
