Tickets for the state championship tourney

Post by satx »

I grew up in Minnesota and moved away 20 years ago. I have been bragging to my kids for years that they have never seen a spectacle like the high school state championship tourney. They have finally called me on it and are demanding that I take them to the 2008 championship.

I have been away so long that I have no idea how to get tickets, or if they are even available. Can you buy them from ticket brokers, from the MSHL, etc? Before I make flight, car and hotel arrangements I want to make sure it is even do-able.

Any help or guidance on the process would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jay Milton
San Antonio, TX (don't laugh - we do have one rink in town!)

Class A tickets are generally available at the gate, but AA have been sold out for years. Brokers will have tem closer to tourney time (Ticket King, for example). Also, this year's tourney will be the first following the leagalization of ticket scalping in the state, so if you bring a wad of cash, you'll probably be able to find them outside the arena each day.

Tickets for the AA are usually available fronm the scalpers out front. Usually about 10-15 bucks over face value is what I have paid. Also, there is a limited number that go on sale an hour before each AA session. So if you like to wait in line, get there early and you can usually get them

You can check with the MSHSL for tickets to all the sessions but I think it may be to late. I have gotten tickets the last 3 years but have to order in advance.
I just got my order to send in by Nov. 12th they then send the tickets in Feb for all the sessions otherwise there are usually plenty to scalp or you can stand in line one hour before AA sessions for tickets. Championship game usually sold out. Some people whos team failed to reach the final game sell theirs and go home instead of hanging around, good luck
