What "parade"? AL has no parade, because they have not proved anything yet...falcons89 wrote:My team? It is your team too.mngirlshockeyfan wrote: Falcons what makes you so sure your team can overcome the rest? Some of us have heard the recent lineup changes for the team.![]()
What do you think our chances are of beating Albert Lea and ending their parade?
Too much hype, IMHO.

Too much hype? All you have to read is your previous posts and the rest of Albert Lea's posts, to see that the EXPECTATIONS are HIGH for this team. The target is clearly on Albert Lea's All- time, All- star, Girl's highschool hockey team. Take your target like a man, tinysota. Anything less than a trip to state, is clearly a failure for this team. It all starts today.

Just for fun, I did look back at my old posts, and here are some excerpts:falcons89 wrote:Too much hype? AL will be competitive.
I predict that AL will NOT dominate at all...period
It's too bad that just when it seems we have the best team since the girl's hockey program started, that we seem to lack the leadership we need.
I really feel that the Section crown is up for grabs...
I think a little humble pie is warranted here.
Better yet, get the job done first, and then dish the dis...
Maybe the AD will do the coaching !! LOL
Starting to sound like AL is doomed before the season starts.
The current team that is so "good" will go absolutely nowhere unless they work together 100% of the time.
Blaming a goalie and forward before the season even starts sets up the entire group for failure.
Notice that I said TEAM and nothing about INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS
You could be right, Buzzard !

Wow, I am sure not very positive about our chances, am I?

I almost overlooked Tigertime's quotes. I appreciate your honesty. You are probably at practice now.tigertime wrote:Falcons, we do have players that are much better than all of those past players that you listed.
If #1 plays like she wants to be there and cares a little bit and makes the easy saves. And then if #5 passes the puck to her team mates, we can not lose. Olympia is right, We are going to sweep you Falcons.

The quote of mine that you re-quoted was in my post...falcons89 wrote:I almost overlooked Tigertime's quotes. I appreciate your honesty. You are probably at practice now.tigertime wrote:Falcons, we do have players that are much better than all of those past players that you listed.

Take a close look at MY posts, or are you BLIND?
I can't speak for the others.
Are you still taking those drugs we discussed earlier?

My daughter told me that she heard that Austin posted their tryout results yesterday. It seems like a very quick tryout to me. She also told me that KT, the 7th grader that played for Rochester 12U last year, made the varsity team. Good for her!
Do the Big 9 girls teams do a jamboree or multi-team scrimmage like the boys do?

I know AL and Austin are working on having one in AL, but Faribault has yet to commit because they don't know how to get to AL...Rocket78 wrote:My daughter told me that she heard that Austin posted their tryout results yesterday. Two day tryout? Must have only been enough girls tryout to make a team.Rocket78 wrote:My daughter told me that she heard that Austin posted their tryout results yesterday. I doubt Austin is in any place to cut girls, regardless of age or talent. To field three lines (as they did last year) and after graduating 8? seniors, I'm sure Bray took anybody and everybody that tried out.
No roster has been posted but I notice that an Erin Enger is joining the staff.
AL is the favorite and will probably prove themselves...assuming they all stay one big happy family and mentally there.
Faribault could scare AL a little but they won't admit that losing Foley will hurt them. The Kastner, Bjorker and whoever else it is line won't have the same chemistry without her.
My picks:
1. Albert Lea
2. Faribault
3. Northfield
4. Austin
5. Red Wing
6. Waseca
But #3 and #4 could possibly move around. We'll find out Nov. 9 when they play each other. (First game too!)

Albert Lea is the greatest.

Fairibault is the greatest
so i am a new on this forum but i have been reading it for a long time. falcons89 i dont know who you are but if you truly are from faribault at least be smart enough to spell "faribault" right. i personally am from faribault and you are making us look cocky and stupid. most of us are not.
and just to add to this whole alber lea vs. faribault thing, there will be some good games to come and could they could go either way. albert lea has some great players but faribault does as well

Hey Lefty, I do not know who you are. But if you are from Faribault, and not some Albert Lea imposter, learn how to use the quote system. Also , push that little shift button for capital letters. You make us Falcons fans look stupid. Also it is kind of funny how you misspelled Albert Lea. You dislike them as much as I do.

One big happy family, I am not going to touch that.tigerpower wrote:AL is the favorite and will probably prove themselves...assuming they all stay one big happy family and mentally there.
(First game too!)

So how does this year's All-time, All-Star, Albert Lea team compare to last year's Austin dream team.
Who would win heads up?
Can Alber Lea ( spelled like my good friend lefty) run the table?
Can they win the Big 9?
falcon, My guess is that you were playing your newbies in the scrimmage this weekend. Only 4-1 against Century? Time to start shooting off ice. I know they have 2 goalies this year including a transfer from I Falls. Did they have lots of saves or were the shots off? I heard Mayo trounced Red Wing but heard nothing about the Rockets. Were they even there?

Lefty, welcome to the forum. We need more Faribault fans here combatting the Section 1A favorite Albert Lea.
Rocket I am not sure where your post was coming from, but shouldn't you be on the ever so exciting 1AA thread. But then of course if you are that bored, you could move to a 1A school (like Faribault) and join in the fun.

One of the Century moms was in the hockey shop on Sunday talking about their scrimmages in Red Wing and she said they lost to Faribault 4-1 and they were beaten by somebody else too. I would have guessed that Faribault would have won by 10+ goals. If Faribault was not at the Red Wing scrimmages you have my apologies.
I wasn't watching the scrimmages and my only hockey playing daughter is still in youth so I was at her hockey this weekend. I guess Mayo just buried Red Wing so maybe ranking them #5 is a little optimistic for tigerpower's poll. How 'bout JM, did they play in the scrimmages? If so, how did they do?
Falcon, I am looking at moving to a smaller town where my kids can play 3 sports, do plays and participate in other extracurricular activities. Is everyone in your fair city as chaming as you? You are on the money about the 1AA thread being very quiet. Of course, when they do talk they are talking about hockey and not bashing the poor tigers.

Hey, we'd welcome you in AL. My daughter does 3 sports and is in choir, orchestra, marching band, and does plays...Rocket78 wrote:Falcon, I am looking at moving to a smaller town where my kids can play 3 sports, do plays and participate in other extracurricular activities. We are the Tigers, the mighty, mighty Tigers !!!

Twin, that's pretty cool. And I suspect she kicks butt in school too. The busiest kids always seem to be able to pull it all together. Back in the day...I was fortunate to play 8 different team sports in Jr High plus all of the oddball things like swimming, fishing, canoing, kayaking, archery, bowling, tennis (no offense), curling etc. Life was good!
