Tailgating

Post by davey »

With the football season upon us I thought I might share probably the best brat recipe I have ever had.

This makes 20-25 brat.

Take your brats and grill them up until they brown. Do not fully cook. Set aside.
Meanwhile Place a cheap foil pan on grill and mix together the following

3 onions
3 sticks of butter
3 cans of beer ( I used Schells Firebrick)
3-5 sliced fresh jalapenos I don't seed them but I like the heat.
Stir this until the butter melts
Add your brats back in along with 1-2 large jars of sauerkraut
close the grill and let these simmer at least an hour stirring when you feel like it. I usually let them go for a couple of hours while enjoying Firebricks with friends. You never have to worry about burning these.
Enjoy

I'm all about the brats in beer & onions, but if you even ATTEMPT to put one shred of sauerkraut on it, I'll smack you over the coconut the damn jar.

Tailgating......not for me. Shop, pack a car, double check you have everything you need, forget something important, stand around, fill a bladder in the cold with few places to legally do anything about it, run out of suds as others came unprepared, rush as you get chased out of the lot by security at gametime, get to seats late, kick people out of your seats, spend the whole first half standing in line to use bathroom.
