locker rooms cleared out Schwanns

Post by jancze5 »

At the super rinks this weekend on Saturday evening BOTH teams locker rooms get cleared out...Cell phones, money, ipods, one kids sweatshirt...just pathetic. At Schwanns in Blaine of all places.

1-the freaking team manager and coaches blew it by not assuring the locker rooms were secured as is an "implied" responsibility.

2-the rink already had the lockers open and the main office was closed even before the game started, who had the keys anyway? Tournament of course shrugs shoulders and says oh well...

3-yes, just venting, but WHAT over...you have to have some set of balls to go into 2 locker rooms during a game and clear out that much stuff...

BUYER BEWARE...LOCK YOUR DRESSING ROOMS and watch out at the Super Rink facility. I'd expect this in Montreal, but not in Blaine.

Pathetic...and we got our tail handed to us a few times to add insult to injury...(laughing in hindsight)

Got a chance to see a few of the Machine teams play this weekend for the first time...whatever they're doing at Minnesota Made, it's working, at least for the 95 team. Great skating team, very fundamentally stong on their feet, move the puck..move the puck..move the puck. Don't know any kids, parents or anything about the program..I've only see people bash the program on here, but if you watch these kids skate, you'd wonder who was training them and when.

This is an ongoing problem at the 'Super' Rink.

FYI.....The team you watched in the 95 Division was the 96 Machine. They played up this past weekend.

Somebody had posted a thread a month or two ago about a couple of kids being stopped just after they had ripped off a lockerroom at Schwan's, and the first question that came to mind (although I didn't ask it), is why the hell wasn't it locked? So now I'm asking asking... why the hell weren't they locked this time - especially in light of the previous incident?

Maybe it's just where I'm from, but I don't recall too many instances where we didn't lock up - typically our manager had the key for high school, and the coaches for levels below that - they'd usually hand it off to somebody on the bench at the end of each period so they'd be able to go quickly. If you have to wait for a minute or two for the key to arrive before you can get in, it seems like a small price to pay as opposed to losing thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

A video camera system isn't that expensive, and would go a long way to eliminate this growing problem.

I did...& they were not kids...it was an adult male(D-Bag) they wait and watch to see the team go on the ice and then move...but our group caught the pc of crap and they took him to jail...our situation was the 3 on 3, they're very short games...and players are coming and going..a lot of the time if everyone was ready to go on time it would be much easier to lock it up...managers are really non existent in the summer leagues..at least as far as I know.
The best defense is lock it or post someone in sight of the room especially at the SR.

This issue must be being addressed. My son is skating in the Hockey Academy this weekend and the locker room was locked and we had to wait for someone to unlock it everytime we went to use it. Before and after each ice session and training session.

The best remedy is to bring nothing with you into the lockerroom...car keys only. If you bring anything more, you haven't played enough hockey. Remind your kids to do the same...its that simple. Its the only sure thing. Old farts bring their bags to the bench with them...this works too. Sad but that is reality.

This is true for every rink in the state. If a kid has car keys, bring them to the bench or give them to someone else to hold. Leave NOTHING of value in the locker room, ever!! I would add sticks to that list.
