If true, that ain't righthockeyguy99 wrote:I was looking through the rosters and noticed a player that played Centenial JV swing line made Elite 1, and many of his teamates that played varsity didn't even get a tryout. How does this happen? I thought you had to be an impact Varsity player to get into Elite 1?
careful breakout - the multi-moniker guy and his faulty logic will use this against us when talking about elite mitesbreakout wrote: Mr. Russo and all involved with the Elite League should be commended. The league is a great service and development program.

back on point - these would be some great games to catch

Elite 1 games should be on their website. You are right, there should be some good hockey this fall.

Elite 1 is suppose to be the top 100 or so players in the state. Elite 2 is the next tier of players. Their websites may be more defining.Indians forever wrote:What's the difference between Elite 1 and Elite 2 Hockey????
There will be players on Elite 2 that should be playing on Elite 1. There will be some players on Elite 1 that will make you scratch your head and wonder why they aren't playing in Elite 2. Overall, the players end up playing where they should.
If you weren't picked to play Elite 1, Elite 2 is a nice way to get extra games and extra work in before the high school season starts.

Welcome to the real world..................hockeyguy99 wrote:My point is, how can a player who makes Select 16 National Camp, or another player who has played three years of Varsity hockey be looked over upon by a player who has played maybe one period of Varsity hockey. It isn't right.
Right or wrong, thats the way the cookie crumbles. This happens every year, in every league and in every arena.
if you want to make a team like this make it impossible for the coach to take you off the leave the ice. At this level why would a coach want talent on his team that won't allow him to be the most competitive.hockeyguy99 wrote:My point is, how can a player who makes Select 16 National Camp, or another player who has played three years of Varsity hockey be looked over upon by a player who has played maybe one period of Varsity hockey. Politics might have got him to the tryout. I don't think it helped him make the team.hockeyguy99 wrote:My point is, how can a player who makes Select 16 National Camp, or another player who has played three years of Varsity hockey be looked over upon by a player who has played maybe one period of Varsity hockey. Maybe politics kept him off the varsity roster.Neutron 14 wrote:Politics might have got him to the tryout. I would give SW the edge as the goalies they are going against should be pretty tired with the travel and game the night before.SEC Scotty wrote:Good match up tomorrow in the Midwest Elite league. The Great Plains kids playing football and elite are going to have some serious mileage in by the end of the season. The Fargo Arena later in the year looks like the closest and that is ~4hr drive after a game on friday night. The Twin cities is ~6hr for some of them.
I guess they are probably not taking too many challenging classes that have alot of homework.

Southwest 7 Buddish 2 Goals
Great Plains 5 Ravendalen 2 goals
Danny Mattson was the best player on the ice today I thought.
Aaron Ness is unbelievably quick. One or two strides and he is gone. Didn't do a lot until the 3rd period.
The Edina boys had the best passing play of the day with Gleason finishing with a tap in.
Anders Lee is a load. Good luck with him on the wall.
