random thoughts after a trip across middle America

Post by goldy313 »

1) Right now the Yankees are the best team in baseball

2) The Twins have become a joke, trading Castillo was the sign they were throwing in the towel, we just missed it. They are batting a leadoff hitter who hits sub .250, RonDL White and his .150, the MVP is below the Mendoza line against lefties and sports radio across America laughs at their DH situation. Their 8th out of 14 AL teams and fading.

3) If you want a laugh read about the new mite program in the youth hockey thread. One of my sons leaves for Ft Benning and basic training in a couple of weeks, after spending a week camping and hiking in the Rockies and watching baseball in Denver and KC, youth hockey seems so irrelevent. I'll be prouder of him the day he finishes his training that at any point in his hockey career.

4) Maybe I live an insulated life but I watched a man refuse service at a restaraunt in KC because the waiter was black. I was literally stunned.

5) For $10 I sat in in the upperdeck behind homeplate at Kauffman Stadium, had a Pepsi, a hot dog and a bag of peanuts, plus was entertained by a 20 minute firework show after the game, the best deal in baseball bar none. The Twins would do well to treat their fans as well. On another note the Toronto pitcher pitched 7.2 innings of no hit ball and left to a standing ovation by the KC crowd. Those are baseball fans.

Meh. I read it, followed it, and now I've closed it. Guess a couple of them didn't take my "subtle" hint the first time. If you looked up "stupid thread" on wikipedia.com, you'd see a link to that thread. A joke.

Goldy,
I wish the best for your son and I pray when he leaves the service he is as healthy as when he entered. Tell him from an old guy who served 40 years ago thank you. I am proud of all who have served and are still serving.
