there are some U19B "community based" teams like Edina, etc. Also there are the TBreds if you can make that team. Besides that many colleges have club teams in addition to their NCAA D3 or D1 teams, or have some hockey through other ways if you're in college (intramurals - but can be co-ed sometimes...). Otherwise there's the WHAM Women's league here in MN... http://www.whamhockey.org Also, some gals skate in the adult leagues with the guys - I know one of my female asst coaches skated with a WHAM A1 team and an adult mens team. She was the Men's team captain and they ended up going to nationals in Vegas this year in fact! Many great options!

Minnesota Hockey is trying to add more 19U girl's teams. Contact Dave Margenau on the Minnesota Hockey website at www.minnesotahockey.org. The teams are combined together by Districts and have space for any player not playing high school hockey.

A couple quick items...girlshockey wrote:Minnesota Hockey is trying to add more 19U girl's teams. Contact Dave Margenau on the Minnesota Hockey website at www.minnesotahockey.org. The teams are combined together by Districts and have space for any player not playing high school hockey.
1) To my knowledge MN H doesn't care if you're post-HS, etc. as long as you're still eligible by the birthdate guidelines.
2) The cutoff for U19 next year is??? Jan 1 88? Born on or after I believe???
And a side note - nice to see that U16 and U19 teams (as well as some U14) get SOME ability to play against HS teams - JV usually anyway at least - which I think would be wise for both the MSHSL and MH people to look into more. I think these groups fight too much for kids otherwise with too many offerings... although I'm sure the typical "insurance" claim is what keeps full meshing from occuring (although even that could be overcome)... But having options isn't a bad thing either I suppose...
