Tryout Question?
Like most southern Minnesota hockey associations we have a Bantam A and B team. My question is Would you select a bigger (less skilled) kid over a smaller (slightly more skilled) kid for your Bantam A team? Please keep in mind ALL these players are B skill level, but will be forced to play A level (because there are only 3-5 true A players). Thanks for the input.

Selecting Bantams
If the skating ability is close, take the bigger kid. At the Bantam level those smaller kids will take a physical beating. Especially if their skill level is at the B level. Just my take.

Re: Tryout Question?
Put both of these players that are competing for a spot against the best or biggest players on the ice. This should give you a good idea on how they will hold up on the upcoming seasons...Frozen Water wrote:Like most southern Minnesota hockey associations we have a Bantam A and B team. The truth hurts
Everyone here knows it's more intreging (sp?) to pick the big kid. Look at the kid that played 4 marshall high school last year, huge couldn't skate very well and couldn't keep up 4 a regular shift, but he was BIG. Was there someone small and better probley. Bottom line if your small you have to be a lot better.
