Fink Leaving Hopkins for Waterloo

Heard yesterday that Mike Fink is leaving Hopkins for Waterloo for his Junior and Senior year. Is that old news?

Not old news, but not unexpected. Best of luck to Mike. It sure would have been nice to see him stick around for another year, though.

He will head there unless he is offered a deal with NTDP. Not sure if that is a dead issue yet.

Good for Mike but I feel bad for Hopkins. He was their supposed to be the leader of the class that would finally produce a winning team. Why didn't the Gophers offer Fink?

They were going to, but the timing wasn't correct yet. Ask GopherBlog for details.

Fink looked horrible at Model Camp. Slow, lazy and did not produce. While the team he was on had weak goaltending, he was not anywhere near the top of the forwards on this team, at least during this week. Very surprising effort and performance.

Ok Mr. Orono, from what I saw, Fink had no one to help him on the ice since him and Festler did not play on a line together. Take into consideration that he is only going to be a junior

Gopher Blog addressed that on his blog. Looks like he will be heading for Waterloo.
