Town Ball

Post by Govs93 »

I think I'm probably directing this thread more toward you outstate guys, but does anybody follow/care about some of the amateur baseball around the state?

I've never really paid much attention because the Twins & Saints are in town, but I've always wondered what kind of a following the amateur baseball really has. I'm fascinated by it, and hope to check out a few games this year - probably mostly in the North Star League because it's closest to my house, but still "out of town".

My amateur team has had two games canceled against North Star League opponents (Loretto and Hutchinson).

I love it. It's a lot of fun and is extremely competitive for the most part.

There is a message board similar to this one for amateur baseball. It is http://sobieskiskis.proboards30.com/index.cgi.

Amateur ball was a lot of good times.

Getting to the state tournament was always great. Advancing to Labor Day weekend and the quarterfinals of the Class C tournament will always be a great memory.

I played for a few years but then the wife and kids came along and became a bigger priority. It was a lot of fun though.
