Good player on bad teams

Post by glovesoff »

Do good players on weak teams get respect?
Can a player play for a bad team and still be noticed?

Yes. I beleive Cambridge-Isanti had a player that had 46 goals and something like 75-85 points, Chumley. Im not sure if he is going anywhere after high school but he led the metro in goals.

In section 8a Bagley, Red Lake Falls and Kittson Central all have had a good player or two every year but don't get much attention.

If your good enough, they'll find you. Ask Addison DeBoer (Colorado College) from that hockey hotbed Spring Lake Park.

*Leopold left H.S. via an invitation to Ann Arbor ... but still ...

DeBoer was a great high school player, didnt do too much as a freshman at CC, and when he was a senior at SLP they actually did quite well that year.

I've seen Chumley play and I am not that impressed with him. He is a decent hockey player but I do not see him playing too far after high school.

He got drafted in the USHL so obviously some people that know a little more what they are talking about think differently.

Wasn't he having some kind of medical issue at the end of the season?
Heart or something...I just remember hearing something about that.
