Here is a look at the new 5A, some rebuilding to do?
Can start with senior’s lost and regular season returning point getters.
Denfeld lose 7 seniors / starting goalie Kolguist / returning J. Johnson 73, Stafne 57, Hotchkin 40, Bushey 15, T. Johnson 23, Skarman 10
Hermantown lose 8 seniors / starting goalie Hardy / returning LeBlanc 74 ?, Krause 24, Smith 11, Huttel 18, Lonetto 26, Engelmeier 13
St. Cloud Cathedral lose 13 seniors / starting goalie Hess / returning Schmitt 30, Rindelaub 30,Lommel 19, Pogamski 13, Nessler 14
Sauk Rapids lose 10 seniors starting goalie Lochner / returning Christiansen 35, Cariveau 26, Henkemeyer 28, Serena 10
North Branch lose 5 seniors / returing Sowka 12, Williams 9, Lenards 7, Zengerle 6
Princeton no info
Proctor lose 7 senior / starting goalie Scherber / returning O’Conner 10, Hanson 11, Merrier 11, Johnson 13
Moose Lake (coop) no info
Mora (coop) lose 6 seniors / shared starting goalie Vork / returning Cannon 6
Pine City (coop) lose 13 seniors / returning Will 12, Kraft 10, Warner 17,
Does not mean they where starters and also don’t play the same type of opponent schedule for those points.
Looks like a two horse race with Denfeild & Hermantown from this snap shot?

Nick Maiers, who played bantams this year, should see a majority of the starts for them. He could be a little shaky at the start of the year but with some experience at the varsity level I can see him turning into a decent tender by seasons end.RLStars wrote:With who in net?Goldy Gopher wrote:Hermantown's got to be the favorite coming in but they don't have it locked up. SCC's goalie could be a big question, they lost a lot when they lost Hess but I could easily see them making a run for the section title.

Gonna be hard to recruit a kid with the new transfer rules but it's still a nice little stab at one of the few private schools in the state that doesn't go out looking for new talent each year.fivehole628 wrote:Ya... they're gonna be hurting in the nets next year... unless they can recruit a kid
I know, Tyler Graves. That's one. Find another.
But, to the question. Nick Maiers, Calvin Herold, and Nate Hoefflin will be the three looking for the starting spot. If I had to make a guess at who it will be, Maiers will probably be in net for the big games.
The stat about them losing 13 seniors is a little misleading. Only like four or maybe five of those guys were top-end players. The others were solid role players but all replaceable.
Right now, a lot of it is contingent on LeBlanc staying or going.
Even with LeBlanc staying, I'd put my money on Denfeld right now.
