Hunter will extend his hitting streak tonight. I hope he is in the 3-hole again.

Well I guess as long as your pants are pulled up and your hats on straight its ok with me.
Or is that strike two and three?

I've been getting a few too many hits and giving up a few too many. start with those, and do slight tweaks according to how you play and it'll be perfect.EREmpireStrikesBack wrote:I prefer to call it "ice". Happy to see Morneau hit a couple out today. Big comeback win today. Torii extends his hitting streak to 22.

It is always a Yankees hat thoughNeutron 14 wrote:Ice, bling, grillz... geez... ya think ya know someone.EREmpireStrikesBack wrote:I prefer to call it "ice". Great night for Morneau and the Twins.
Boof was good and the bullpen great again.
Hunter's streak is an important event IMO. I think it shows he has taken his offensive game to another level. I dont think that this is just another one of his short hot streaks before a prolonged slump.
I think that his start this year with what he accomplished the second half of last year shows a consistency that we have never seen before.
They have to resign him.
Jason Kubel.................

I'm not one to cut Torii too much slack... he's missed in so many clutch ABs over the years that I've found it hard to give the guy much credit, but I would agree with you here. The streak has been impressive, but during the streak, he's made some key hits (last night for example), and has led off many innings with a hit while they were trailing. He's played pretty well when they've needed him to.packerboy wrote: Hunter's streak is an important event IMO. I think it shows he has taken his offensive game to another level. Whether or not they should resign him? It's going to depend on whether or not he'll take a hometown discount. I still say he probably isn't worth the $12m he's making now, and he'll probably get at least $14m as a free agent. Unless he'd sign here for $9-$10m, I say let him go.
If you are in the major leagues and want people to pay to watch you play, you have to have an outfield.
If Hunter leaves, they have one major league outfielder on the team.
They have no offensive depth in the organization. Lets assume this whatshisname in Rochester can catch the ball, how do you replaces Hunter 25 HR and 90 RBIs.....oh, I know, Lew Ford is just about healthy.
No, no wait, I forgot, Jason Kubel will come around.Yup, thats it Jason Kubel.........wait a minute, how could I foget Josh Rabe.
No wait, I have heard Terry Tiffe is stinging the ball again in the minors.
Forget what I said, let Hunter go and sign another pitcher. Hey, maybe Radke can be coaxed out of retirement. He will get sick of those kids soon enough.

-Can't bunt or hit behind a runner
-Overmatched and confused by moderately decent pitching
-Range in LF is average.
-Isn't a HR threat.
-Arm is average.
-Foot speed is average.
-But the biggest sin of all

Bring back Brent Abernathy, at least he'll crash into the left field wall to register an out.
Great AB's from Morneau and Hunter in some crucial spots last night.
If Ozzie is smart he'll just walk Morneau and Hunter the rest of the series. Make the light hitting slap hitters string three in a row together.

Where is the Kubel that hit .320 and hit 6 homers in one month last year, including a walk off Grand Slam?

Yes they do. They could send Ponson up there and have him attempt to bunt and it would at least look better. Kubel just looks terrible. Addition by subtraction, seriously. Why do we pinch hit him in clutch situations when we have Matthew "HR when I pinch hit with the bases loaded" LeCroy in the minors. He'd at least be fun to watch walk to and from the plate. Kubel was in my doghouse after the first couple games when he showed he has no range whatsoever in the OF and now is even lower on my list after he can't hit or take a pitch or do anything. Gosh he frustrates me!packerboy wrote:If you are patient with him, he may give you a month like that again..... some day. In between , you will get a lot of what you saw last night.
But the 800 lb gorilla in the room is: They dont have anybody better to replace him.
Twins game tomorrow, can't wait!
