No, Snuggy took the Headmaster job at Bernie's new hockey development academy. He is too busy and being paid too much money to be the coach at Benilde. Anyone else have any inside info on this one?Puckguy19 wrote:How about Snuggy?notahockeyguy wrote:Dino you have no idea who the next coach will be. I agree it won't be Reilly. But you have no idea.
I find it hard to believe that Larry would be put in charge of anything big. But, you know, stranger things have happened.easton7 wrote:That was what I heard. I heard Hendrickson took a big job at the Herb Brooks deal. They are looking for a new head coach. Reilly was the 5th guy to be asked to take the assistant coach and he said yes. His kids are good and skilled but are small. I talked to the Benilde kids and they said he will not take the head coaching job.

Andy Ness? As good as he is as a conditioning and skill coach, I don't think they would hire someone with no head coaching experience. What about Reid Larson?Dino wrote:No idea---------I bet someone being interviewed has intials A.N---dont mess with Dino ---i am this sites "shooter"---aka Charlie Walters"---notahockeyguy wrote:Dino you have no idea who the next coach will be. Pauly is at Minnetonka.EREmpireStrikesBack wrote:Sorry to hear Larry is out, I thought he was a great coach who ran a tight program. Will definitely be interested to hear who the next coach is.
What happened to Ken Pauly? Not even sure if that is the right name, but it rings a bell.
....Can't thank you enough for the time.

Ken Pauly had a dynamic team of coaches back then. I believe Jack Blatherwick and Paul Ostby were a significant part of the state championship runs.hockeyxprt1 wrote:BSM head coach for state championships in '99 and'01: Ken Pauly
Not bad having Troy Riddle on your squad either. I believe Andrew Alberts, current Boston Bruin played on the 1998-99 team as well.
Minnetonka lured Pauly over. They wanted Blatherwick and Ostby to come over as well. Blatherwick stayed at Benilde for a year after Pauly's departure. Then he moved on to become the physiologist for the Washington Capitals. I believe he is still there. Paul Ostby continues to coach at Benilde.
state titles
Pauly did put together a great team of coaches at Benilde, and he's done the same thing at Minnetonka. The best coaches usually do.State Tourney appearance in 2006 for the Skippers - not bad. When is the last time Tonka had done that?

I have heard his name is in the mix and I think it would be a great hire for BSM. He has more knowledge of the game and knows what it takes to win (even if the parents of 4th-liners don't agree) than a lot of coaches out there. With the selfish, whiny ways of certain parents out there, I don't know why anyone would want to coach. I give them credit. I heard the stack of applications for the Orono job is pretty thin. Good luck, Spartans.

I can't believe it. Considering Dave's philosophy on keeping hockey on the 'right' focus, that he would throw in with a maniac like Bernie.Hockeyguy_27 wrote:No, Snuggy took the Headmaster job at Bernie's new hockey development academy.
