Twins win Saturday & Sunday. However, despite his ERA, Contreras will hold Minnesota to under 63 runs.

Ha that's only becuase he won't go 9 innings.

If he did though ... 63 runs WOULDN'T be out of the question ...

I'd like to take a moment to vent about the ridiculous cross-promotion that the White Sox are doing by scheduling their Friday games at 7:11. Now every team that shows up in Chicago is in on the promotion because their schedules have to reflect the correct game time. The Twins, Royals, Astros... because the White Sox signed a deal with 7-11, they're all in on the deal now - even in markets where 7-11 doesn't exist, like for example... MINNEAPOLIS!!! Weasels.

Lots of credit to the marketing geniuses at 7-11 for pulling it off though... sign a deal with a local team - get national exposure.

I just heard on the radio that the Sox have won only ONE season series against the Twins since 2000.

Is this accurate, or is that radio show's production crew a little shorthanded on this goodest of Fridays?

I don't believe that's correct. If you check the handy-dandy ESPN schedules for '05, you'll see that in that April alone, the Twins actually dropped 2 of 3 and then both games of a 2 game series. In checking the rest of the Twins/Sox series for that season, it looks like the Twins actually only won one series.

silva is going to get lit up. twins will still win at least 2 games. the sox are in trouble with the pitching they got. what the hell was kenny williams (sox GM) doing trading Garcia and Macarthy and hanging on to vasquez for 3 years and 34 million? pretty dumb if you ask me.

Twins will lose the games that Silva and Ponson start all season long against the better hitting teams.

The Sox arent pitching well but they will outslug the Twins with Silva and Ponson on the hill th same way Cleveland outslugged them.

Unless , of course, they hit the Boofin ball.

Too cold? What the hell is that? I thought this was a professional league, not a girl's league.

You know what 20+ plus pitches and three 3 ball counts in an inning means? You don't have an out pitch which means you don't have any stuff. Silva is trying to get big leaguers out with HS pitches.

I guess I am probably a little too "old school", but I still wish teams would move guys over when they have no out and runners on 1st and 2nd. ( no matter who is up) Especially early in games. There is nothing like a pop out and a double play to ruin your day.

Earth to Mike Cuddyer....are you out there?

Like I said, Dennys Reyes makes me itchy.

Castillo has days where he just looks weak, old, and overmatched at the plate, today was one of them.

Hit the Boofin Ball!

why didnt they have hunter bunting with guys on 1st and 2nd with no outs? this was when the game was still 1-0 and he hit into a double play. and WOW cuddyer are you kidding me trying to go home with 1 out on a pop fly, a 4 year old knows not to start running there.

He thought there was two outs. It happens to everyone at some point in their career. Give the guy a break. He had 2 of our 3 hits today.

You guys going to ease up on Silva a little? I didn't see the game, it looks as if he had at least one bad inning according to what you guys say. But his #'s weren't bad when it was all said and done. And why was Castillo looking so bad? He had a hit.

I'll give him a little credit - he kept the team in the game yesterday, but considering the cold, it really limited the effectiveness of his favorite pitch to throw... the homerun ball. If it was warmer, he likely would have had a more spring training-like outing.

Although, he did get a couple of 1 out double plays which was nice to see. I have to think that's a sign of the sinker sinking. Hopefully we can continue to see more and more of it.

A kid is making his major league debut for the Sox, two three ball counts and two popouts, come on and hit the Boofin' ball.

Twins Scoring Drought : 14 innings or 3 days, 17 hrs.
