7 from Hill means Hill has done a good job in the procurement department, nothing more. I would of guessed Eric Aus coaching his own kid might cause some questions, but not Hill having 7.Stealth wrote:Look at that 16 roster for 2A/3AA, Is the coach from “HILL MURRAY”?
7 Kids from one team? Watch for some other ones to come out like this.

I was unimpressed with the event at Section 8 tryouts in Moorhead. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of very good hockey players in section 8. First of all, there were way to many 16's at the tryouts which is most likely why they didn't have enough jersey's for everyone to get one. Evidently MS hockey didn't pay enough rent money to use the Moorhead facility because the entire place was out of toilet paper and some players that needed to go, struggled to find a way to get relief. The vending machines didn't have water or powerade drinks in them for the players. I saw players that weren't real solid make the 16 team and good players I saw during the season that played at a didn't give a hoot level during the tryouts still made the team. The 17's had a lot better show and a more realistic group size for the tryouts. There were defiantely some good players in the 17 group that didn't make the team because, like each section, they only take 20 players. Maybe the rumors are true?? Players are picked based on season performance and this is a fundraiser!! After seeing/experiencing it, it does make a person go HMMMM.

I will agree with TKO I was also unimpressed with the 16s tryout. I was in Duluth last weekend. The Talent level was very good but the performance of the players and the structure was poor. I also agree that there where many players that looked exceptional but none advanced. The Studs or Hotshots seemed uninterested and lathargic. I am pretty sure there where two players not even there that where placed on the roster.
PuckGuy...no response...sheesh.
I think the coaches recommend players to the initial tryout.....no one's fault but the coaches who recommend players who should not be there....However, it is probably better to have too many then too few...I am sure there are pressures for coaches as well back in their home rink.

HOF - I thought you were from Monticello - so sorry wrong coach. We all know where the power is based in Section 8. Lawyer, Peddler, LapDog, its all the same thing!HOFamer wrote:HUH? Sounds like you are saying the Buffalo HS coach approves the kids who made the team? I find that highly doubtful since he was only at Saturdays tryout and didn't even attend Sunday??? I was told that at the Hill Murray hockey banquet, coach Lechner said to all the boys, "Here are the advanced 16's and 17's sign up sheets, grab one if you please". Waita pick out your talent coach!HOFamer wrote:PuckGuy...no response...sheesh.

Also, i believe at the 16's level many players that didn't come to play made the team. I know of several players who were skating like peewees that made the team. Obviously, the majority of the team was selected upon the previous years stats and varsity/jv status.
