hockeyadvocate, Thanks. I had heard that before as I am sure many have about the foreign exchange student and the coaches son.
But who cares? It was a team of kids that went to the same high school.
How or why they were there shouldnt concern any of us.
I wonder why so many people associated with R.A.S.H are so concerned about stuff like that.
(Ah AP, do we have to use the periods?)

He was just correcting the worst RASH of all, AP jr.'s accusations, which as always were false

In case any R.A.S.H. publik [Soviet-style Berlin Wall spelling] skoolers missed the point:
Doesn't Grand Rapids have a men's hockey league and business community after high school?
Hobey Baker Award Winner Chris Marinucci
1980 Miracle on Ice Olympic Gold Medal Winner Team Captain Bill Baker
Stanley Cup Champion Devils Assistant Coach Kurt Kleinendorst
Multiple NCAA Championships for Gopher Coach Don Lucia
Those guys never should have been allowed to leave their "home grown community" of Grand Rapids!
PB, only with God and the Pope's blessing may one miss a period.

And just how many Hill grads still live within the city limits of "Hill Murray"

I can honestly say that I still live in the AHA neighborhood. I am 6 blocks from the school that I graduated and played for. I grew up in Mpls.
Let's not forget that approx. 5% of the transfers are for varsity sports, and the tournament will not be ruined by this. There will always be public school "powers" in there as we have just seen. In the A, or B tournament, not so much.
I myself am for the transfer rule. Kids will be at the schools they want as 9th graders and the programs will stay the same. Kids will still be leaving their "youth" programs for whatever school they CHOOSE.

As a member of the Hill-Murray community, you are welcome to go off to Michigan, or win some NCAA championships, or go join the Miracle on Ice, or win many Stanley Cups, or serve the poor in third world countries, or make enough money to buy and sell BIAFP a thousand times!
If you leave Hill-Murray, you are always welcome back, but nobody is going to chain the doors in order to force you to stay!

BIAFP went to publik skool in a small northern town which was destroyed when the mines collapsed directly underneath.Pioneerprideguy wrote:Hey BIAFP, why no response to which school you support? Most everyone here shows an alliance to someone, why not you?
BIAFP was a four-year starter, after flunking high school seven times.
BIAFP spent most his time in the penalty box for swinging his stick like an axe at anyone who said something about BIAFP's mother, which was quite often since BIAFP's mother got around.
BIAFP was homeless after his town went under, but BIAFP was awarded squatter's rights to four abandoned office buildings in which BIAFP had been found to be sleeping (BIAFP is still looking for a cleaning company able to get rid of the smell).
what kid would want to do that and fufill his dreams of making state or playing in college?wbmd wrote:Many leave to try and get more exposure and for the better chance of making the State Tournament.

OK BIAFP. So, you are all for OE and the anti transfer rule. Good.BIAFP wrote:Let me just say that I am a strong supporter of the transfer rule because I think it is best for the game. I don't think it is a public/private school issue at all. Just an opinion and not a biased one. I am all for open enrollment and the transfer rule does nothing to restrict open enrollment.
Now , what if your school has 3-4 open enrollees who play the same sport and they come in in the 9th grade so no penalty. You are in favor of that so we are cool so far.
But this influx of OEs has "displaced" some kids who thought they would make the team. The "displaced ones" want out next year so they can play but now would be considerd transfers because school has started.
Fine, but they have to sit for a year so they dont play the freshman team and cant play as sophs because of your favorite rule.
I thnk as long as you have OE, you should be allowed to transfer.
