97 aaa hockey

I was just wondering if anyone had any information about the 97 aaa hockey. did the thunder have a team last year? what teams did well last year?

they dont need to play aaa it does nothing, I have made the A team almost every year and i hav never played aaa
dont push ur kid too hard let him play other sports itll make him an all around better player

Your kid is like 8 years old....let him play other sports, that will benefit him the most. You know what most of the Canadian NHL guys have done that are currently playing in the NHL?
Answer: not played any summer hockey until the age of 14. And that would be there advice to you as well. Use it well friend do not burn your 'young gun' out.

if he wants to do it why shouldnt i let him. he heard about tryouts from friends, he wanted to try out and he made it, and he'll be 10 this summer, i know thats still young but he still plays baseball in the summer, goes to swimming lessons, so i dont see a problem with it.

That's because in canada they play 100+ games a year and have more practice time, they check at squirts, and the competition is way better.

If your son want's to tryout for a team let him. If he makes it, Good for him. Let him compete in one or two tournaments to try it out. But at your sons age I would strongly encourage him to try hockey "Camps", to improve his skills and get better.

AAA hockey can be a bit much for a lot of 10 year old kids, but it really depends on the kid, the program and whether they are all about winning or actually work to help the kids develop over the summer.
My son plays for the Northern Wings out of Duluth and the emphasis there has been on development of the kids. Sure they would like to win all of their games, but the coaches, to their credit, are not getting down on the kids when that does not happen.
Talk to people who have been around the game for a while and they can point you toward a program that will be a good fit for your kid.

My kid plays aaa hockey and he really enjoys it. There is the lull at the end of April beginning of May before baseball and soccer start where he has nothing to do. The team he plays on does 3 tournaments. Minnesota Meltdown at the end of April, Pepsi cup in Fargo end of May and the Stars of tomarrow in August. They take the summer off, which he would do anyway because he loves baseball and soccer. The teams that play all summer long at this age group are crazy. Like it was mentioned before, any pro athelete will tell you to let your kids play multiple sports and activities.
