Section reassignments 08-10

Post by bauer1520 »

Wow, I just have to say good luck to those teams who were reassigned to section 2. It looks like that section might be in line to dominate the state tourney like section 4 has for the last 8 years. To add to the problem, Hill/White bear/Roseville get to continue their rivalry, but Anoka/Blaine/Maple Grove are getting split up? The fair grounds will not be the fair grounds without 3 and 4 playing back to back games in late February!!

Just out of curiosity, how has section 4AA dominated the state tourney the last eight years?
2006 CDH 2AA
2005 AHA 5AA
2004 Centennial 3AA
2003 ANOKA 4AA
2002 AHA 5AA
This is just 5 years and that is one team from 4AA and 4 from all others with section 5AA having two.
I am just wondering.
Answering your other question, I would bet that the powers that be will make section finals for two games at the Coliseum again, as they will for Mariucci.

Yeah I was a little confused about that statement too, there hasn't been much domination by any section recently.

That being said they really need to do something about Section 1AA, they need to move some talent in there badly or it will be a lot of 2 and out state tournament appearances for that section for a while.

section 4

I believe he meant the NW suburban conference. NOT section 4AA. 4 of the last 7 State champs have been from the NW suburban. But I still wouldn't consider this domination.

Having a two CLASS system and letting teams opt up as if it were a TIER system is what hurts the state tournament.
