I do not know what game you saw, but actually the NU defense was pretty good...The AL team was just that much better all around.

The AL offense was just relentless.

The NU goaltender had also just come off a superb performance against MW.

Think the shots were about 40-30, AL #10 got at least 2 goals.

It was a blowout victory, just like the Marshall game. There was noone in 1A that was going to stop AL from getting to state this year.

Shots were 36-20. New Ulm did not have a shot the third period.

10 had 3 goals.

Could have been much worse. Scoring chances were legitimately 20-3.

Is that back to back hat-tricks then for Woodside? I think he is a very under-rated player.

So you coach?????????

That would require you going to the rink.

RSI. Banned by who? Who put that crazy idea in your head, nobody has contacted me with any info. If I'm going to watch good hockey I would take the trip up to the metro area and watch some class AA games. Where have you been? You have been pretty quiet in the girls forum.

Good Luck to AL, hope they represent our section well, and win a couple games

I've heard the rumors and would like to know the truth, is Lourdes being moved to 1A??

Also what are your rankings for next season

From what I've heard, the new sections are supposed to be released tomorrow (Monday), so we should find out soon.

Anyone heard of the new Section?

You can't know your banned until you actually step foot in the rink.

Why don't you go out to the Albert Lea sendoff tomorrow and check on your status.

Also, why do you waste your time on a thread about a class A school, if your interests lie in the AA teams?

Why isn't Fairbault in section 1A? I remember then being in 1AA two years ago, then they just took the step to 6A or what?

I also heard from a friend that Lourdes was moving back next year. If this is true this section would have quite a bit of talent with Fairbault back in Section 1.

Just think about it.

Albert Lea 18-7-0
West 18-6-1
Fairbault 16-8-1
Rochester Lourdes 20-3-1

Plus on any givin year East, Austin, Marshall, and NU could all join the mix.

Now this would be a fun section to watch. :!:

Also, Why are so many terrible teams shuved into this section? It is the largest one in the state and the bottom half all have seven wins or less. I want to see Section 1 start getting some recognition, and these teams (Sleepy eye, Fairmont, Redwood V., and a couple others) do not help.

Any opinions?
WOW, I guess I got my wish huh? and even RW is in it.
It will get good now!

But for now, GL AL on WED

TIGERPRIDE 2. The new section 1A line up for next year is pretty close to the old section teams that use to be in there a few years ago. Red Wing, Rochester Lourdes and Northfield. With these teams back ,I think this section will also move up in strength. The team that goes to state next year will have to earn it and will also help strengthen the class A tournament. Remember when Red Wing had the Pohl brothers and went to state a few years in a row and did pretty good at state. I think Red wing won the state 1 or 2 times back then? Albert Lea played class AA back in them years. This new section line up is GREAT for the state class A tournament. GOOD NEWS.

John Pohl led RW to the Class A title in March '97. 28-0-0 I think they were that season.

Alot of tough teams added to the section, i was happy to see our section strengthened and become respectable, it will be alot tougher for old 1A teams to make it to the X next year, i wouldn't like to see lourdes or red wing go next year so i hope one of us can do it.
