questionable call at the end on the goalie.... GREAT game... fast paced hard to see the game end on a "questionable call" now people will be saying if the reffs didnt call it we would have a different champ but obviously we will never know

It was not a questionable call on the goalie, it was clearly seen he tripped ravendahlen. Congrats Warroad on the great game. I dont know how to put this, but does the TRF student section have any respect for the game at all? Now throwing crap on the ice after the game? Come on get a little more classy. Overall it was an exciting game to sit through. Good try TRF. I cant wait to see the Warriors represent section 8 in state.

=D> =D> =D> =D> Congrats to Warroad. Did they deserve to win? Maybe. Did TRF deserve to win? Maybe. Did the ref make an absolutely terrible call to decide a section championship game. Maybe. I can't promise you TRF would've won this game if the penalty wasn't called. I can't. What I can promise you is that the game would have been decided in overtime like it should have. Did hunt trip the warroad player? No, He didn't. I was right there. The warroad player skated through the crease missed hunt completely lost his footing and hit Jordan Swanson and fell over. How? How could you call a penalty with less than 50 seconds left in the 3rd period of the section 8A boys hockey championship? I wanted my money back. Does anyone know how many penalties were called threw 2 periods? ZERO. ZERO folks. So why start in the 3rd? First they called Pieper for roughing, which was absolutely awful. Not even close to a penalty. So then came the old fashioned....you might know it as the "Make-Up Call." Once again... =D> =D> =D> I wanted this game to be decided by the kids. But no. :( For those of you who believe he did trip him, even if he did. Would it of had any impact on the game what so ever? Both him and the D-man fell over, who cares? After such a hard-fought great game everyone was robbed of the finish we all deserved, overtime. This makes me really doubt if I will ever go to another game in EGF or even in section 8A. =D> Can I have my six dollars back please? I will use it to buy a ticket for a real game, with a real outcome, Roseau vs. Moorhead. =D> :x

well said mnhock75,dont know if the outcome would have been different, but both those calls in thr third were awful, after not calling anything for two periods that was as much a trip as it was a dive, once again a ref has to get his 5 minutrs instead of letting the kids decide it on the ice.how is the all sec team decided?what was that all about?

sec 8A final

Post by riverman »

too bad the officials had to work tonight, they missed a great game by 2 good teams! no calls made all night except for the last few seconds! benedict tripping a man inthe corner, marvin wacking horien upside the head with his stick! there was enough tripping going on through the game to have more frequent flyer miles than one could use in a lifetime! does anyone know who those refs were?? absolutely brutal job tonight by the 3 blind mice in zebra striped shirts. As far as trf fans throwing things on the ice after the game, I saw warroad fans doing it also! fans do it in basketball games, football, there is alot of excitement after a big game like that. get the broom out and get over it.

riverman was right on....the refs seemed to be gunshy in the first two periods.....as for marvin hitting horien upside the head.....wow....thats all i can say...the ref watched it happen and looked shocked and still didnt call the penalty.....im not saying they were biased...becasue there was calls that should have been called on both teams....but they could have taken three clowns from the shrine circus thrown skates on them let them juggle a couple monkeys while swallowing swords and i am confident they would have done just as well calling that game....
warroad won....end of story...too many missed opprotunities for trf..
tough to say but .....congrats warroad on a big win....

I had to laugh when i logged on here tonight. I KNEW that this was the way the TRF fans would react. They complain that the refs didn't call anything in the first two periods, then they complain that they called some penalties in the third...so which way would you like it, would you like them to never call a penalty or would you like them to call every single one, because you've complained both ways so far tonight. Bottom line, quit blaming the refs, both teams had 51 minutes to score, TRF got one (did they really?) and the better team got 2 (unquestionable).

Great point. It seems that when some teams lose it is always the refs fault, they didn't get any breaks, ice was too slow, etc.

okay know that you are done crying about the refs this and that

both teams played hard, both teams came to win, warroad came out on top. one thing as a parent or fan you should never take the game out on a ref. try some thing like this is what our team should have done. our player should have done. be a real hockey fan don't dump the game on a ref. bad reason for losing.
