This is official position at this time - NOON 2/28/07
I will post anything else I get.
Mark,
Here is what is going out.
Given the weather situation forecast for the next few days the following guidance is to be used regarding the playing of regional tournaments. Please distribute to all of your tournament directors.
A decision to play, postpone or cancel a regional tournament will be the responsibility of the cognizant district director in consultation with the local tournament director. Tournament directors and district directors may use MN DOT travel advisories and/or local school closings as guidance in helping to make their decisions.
Options that are available to remedy postponement or cancellation include, but are not necessarily limited to and in no specific order, the following:
Reschedule the full tournament to next weekend
Reschedule based upon proximity of participant teams and ice availability
Reschedule the full tournament to begin Saturday and run through Monday/Tuesday
The 4 and 12 hour rule can be waived by the district director in order to create flexibility for rescheduling any canceled or postponed games.
Based on an act of God, no team shall be penalized for not showing up on time for their Friday game(s) and its shall be incumbent upon the tournament director and district director to accommodate those team(s) possibly by using the 4/12 hour rule waiver. On Friday no team shall be required to play without a full roster unless that team agrees to play with less than a full roster. Emergency goalie transfers can be approved as needed by the district director.
Games will be permitted to take place with fewer than the number of required referees or through use of alternative referees/linesmen (lower certification level than required, currently non-certified but with prior experience as a hockey referee) with district director approval.
District directors should maintain close communication with tournament directors as questions will inevitably arise as we work through what may be a challenging weekend.
But in the end, remember we are an organization dedicated to putting kids on the ice to play the game of hockey in a fair and equitable manner.
This e-mail has been coordinated with VP, Maroon and VP, Gold and in consultation with Asst. VP Tournaments

regional tournament
If they were to cancel I think I would like the tournament to run Sun through Tues, so it does not overlap the Boys highschool hockey tournament
Re: regional tournament
Most of us are thinking the same thing.egf20 wrote:If they were to cancel I think I would like the tournament to run Sun through Tues, so it does not overlap the Boys highschool hockey tournament

I heard the same thing about the PeeWee A North Region.D16Dad wrote:Elliott
Heard that the PeeWee A North Region in TRF is starting Saturday (Second Hand), have you heard of any changes to Bantam A Region in Virginia or D16 10U Girls districts in Warroad?
I have not heard anything yet for Bantam A in Virginia - as of about 2:30 today it's still on.
Girls 12UB in Silver Bay has cancelled first two games of the day, but that's all, so far.

PeeWee A North Region
It appears they got excited a little early in TRF.
Pee-wee A's in TRF are going Sat, Sun, Mon....
so are14UA in Proctor.
Virginia is going as scheduled based on last word I had at about 3pm today (Thursday).
Pee-wee B and 12UA in Bemidji will be as scheduled (with adjustments for any teams that have travle problems) most have left today for Bemidji.
D16 squirt districts was getting re-arranged to accomodate the boys HS game that got changed.
D16 10U in Warroad is on schedule.
Pee-wee A had to be re-worked because of the HS boys game was changed and they also have HS basketball there (at the little Ralph).
