If Hibbing wants this one, Marchuk will have to have another big game like Saturday night, which is very possible. Look for Greg Sutherland to have a big game leadin' the D. The Jackets have shown they can put points up from every line and the D did an excellent job shutting down Nico & Co. If they play smart and stay out of the penalty box, look for Hibbing to be making a trip to state next week!

I was at the curling club in Hibbing tonight and a couple of people said that the Hibbing coach was suspended for the game, due to the amount of penalties his team took during the semifinal game last Saturday in Rapids. Anybody know if this is true? I know the MSHSL can pose penalty on a coach, but I know the guidelines and said coach can appeal his/her penalty. And appeals like that take a good month for rulings.
Either way: Hibbing 4 Hermantown 2

WOW! I have seen both teams play throughout the season and I do not see how Hibbing has a chance. Hermantown has more talent across the board than Hibbing and it will show in this game. I do not see a close match-up at all and the Hawks will take this game by 3-goals, final score Hermantown-5, Hibbing-2.

More than willing to be wrong on this and will be pulling for either team in the tourney. Come on Northland! Represent in '07!

Very serious. I don't care how their past match-ups went. When you break it down, the Hawks are the better team. Of course, they still have to play the game, so like I said, I am willing to be wrong.

wow you must have seen hibbings games against teams like BSM and Rapids and Roseau, then compared them to the hermantown games against princeton proctor ashland and SMSDDB (sister mary school for dumb def and blind), and said to your self, wow hermantown is pounding these podunk teams and hibbing isnnt pounding these top 10 teams in AA..... Hermantown MUST have a ton more talent...

Hermantown is not superior in ANY way to hibbing, Hibbing probably has more all around talent than hermantown :D

I dont care what anybody says.... wed night is going to be an awesome game. Just like the last three times these teams have played eachother. both teams have very powerful offenses who get a lot of shots on goal. Its going to come down to goaltending and we will see if the clutch players can come through for each team. im guna make a bold prediction and say that the winner of this game.... WINS STATE!!

It was my understanding from reading the single A reports that God had already crowned Hermantown section champion. Is this topic even necessary?

LOL. yeah no kidding. The game will be a good one. BUT i think Hermantown will take it by 2 and continue their winning ways all the way to the X and take home state

Yeah, that is exactly what I was looking at. Good detective work there Sherlock.

I don't care how many AA schools Hibbing has faced, win or lose. It proves nothing in this state! Both classes have good and bad teams. I would put Hermantown, Marshall, Hibbing, Virginia and several others from Section 7A against most AA teams and say the A teams come away with the win. It does not prove a thing.

I look at the performances I saw at each games I attended, and yes, I saw quite a few from both...against good competition (saw both Hibbing and Hermantown against CEC...just an example of same opponent from AA). I like Hermantown's speed and talent better than Hibbing's Simple as that.

Don't worry about it though. It is not like I am saying that Hibbing is a talentless, no-good team that does not deserve to be in the Section championship. I just don't think they will win it.

Hey! Don't mistake me for a Hermantown fan. I am nothing close to one. I am not even from the region. I enjoy high school hockey and that is all. I am only pulling for Section 7 A and AA!

I guess we will have to wait and see. Good luck to both teams and I hope it is an awesome game. I hope even more that I will be able to make it to the game.

I'm not sure I would be that confident. It will be a great hockey game.
