What team is the most physical in Minnesota?

I was just wondering, because come tourney time I think physical play will win. Do you guys agree?

CDH was very physical last year.
Moorhead seems very physical, while AHA seems very fast.

IMHO I don't think Cretin or Moorhead are particularly physical teams. McDonagh is physical but the CDH team isn't. (And actually a bit of Ryan's contact is illegal and cheap. As we get better refs in sections and state, look for him to sit in the box. )

Moorhead's success is their passing. No team in the state passes like Moorhead. I think Hill and AHA were better passing clubs last year.

Fast clubs? There are many many fast teams. I've watched each of the top 20 AA teams play. Speed can win, but not without passing and a knack for the net.

Stillwater is the most physical team I've seen this year. (Jan 11 vs AHA) But that goes both ways, they cannot sustain that type of play and perform inconsistently.

I like the top AA teams equally. Under current conditions, none in my opinion are a run away standout. They all have great pieces that make winners; speed, enough physical play, passing could always be better, each team has a star or two for fan excitement.

Passing with speed is the key to winning for me, quick effective passing out of the zone by the d and movement by the forwards in the opp zone getting the goalie out of position. Its simple. right?

Steijskal (sorry Joe I can't spell buddy) is a man among boys out there. Lundquist is a force as well. But, who really cares about individuals? Physical will win because of the fact it will throw little speedy guys off their game if there constantly being hit.

i agree with ilovehockey, however, im big, and not that fast, but i can still seem to be able to hit the little speedy guys, not everytime, but enough to throw them off and bottle them up in the offensive zone, teams who use a combination of physical play and speed are obviously going to be the most effective, so i cant choose one or the other to win

Often forgotten in the speed vs. size debate is the ability to anticipate and be in the proper position. Particularly on D, if you play physical and are in proper position, and anticipate what is happening, you can control the game. Nobody ever lost a game by keeping the other team from scoring. The key for the speed freaks is to find an opportunity to use your speed to burn the big guys when they are out of position. Guys that combine speed and smarts with clean physical play are what you want! I'll take Stejskal if he has his head in the game and doesn't get too hungry for the ooh aah's when he delivers a big hit.

Except at AHA, where it brings home championships. No one can pace with the top two AHA lines. They will blow past all their competition.

AHA has one of the smallest teams ive seen all year with only about 4 or 5 guys 6 foot or more and the D arent really controlling the game against them at all! wetmore is only 5'7'' polacek is about 5'8'' and matson is 5'11'' but they sure bust right through everyone.
