Is this true? Or is it their team total only gave up 24? They have 2 goalies that play I believe. Just want to be certain that this is clear.

ITS TRUE!!!! Wayzata beat EP 3-2 in OT in a barn burner. Wayzata had a 2-0 lead going into 3rd and EP scored on both 3rd period PP's to tie it up. As much as I hate EP I will admit they were great in the 3rd. Wayzata got a rebound goal to win it, and they deserve a ton of credit as their effort was outstanding - they beat the clear cut best team in state. The best part of course is it couldnt be sweeter happening to a more arrogant you know what than Morris. Cant even get out of the section semi's. Too bad!!!

3 of the Top 5 teams in state lost tonight - in fact many would argue that they were the top 3 teams in state. I don't know that we've ever seen anything like this before. In Section 6 this was mainly due to the depth of the Section and an upset in 5AA took down another great team. It sounds like there was some great hockey played tonight, and wish I could have seen all of it. Congrats to all the teams involved - Winners & Losers - as this has been a great indicator of how far the girls game has come!

EP wasn't playing that well. Too many one-goal games. I'm not saying I told you so, but they didn't appear to be dominant like last years tourney.

mnhockeygirl is correct. i've seen it from them the last 3-4 years. i brought it up here a year ago and people jumped on me.

they were the best team this year also but with a good streak going like they had they needed:

1. more talent
2. more mental toughness
3. more humility

they will only be a shadow of what ssp was. in my opinion ssp had three of the top four teams of all time.

ep will again make a charge next year with all the top talent coming back, but again i don't see them winning the title. they will have the talent but will they have the humility and mental aspect of the game? i don't think so unless things change with the coaching on the squad.

Wait a minute, they won 57 games in a row and you're saying there should be a coaching change? Why don't we let them lose at least one more before getting too critical.
