Univ of MN - Duluth - Prospective recruits
Hello and good evening -
I am brand new to the board and I noticed that every single D-1 WCHA school has at least a couple MN HS kids committed to their program - U of M, Kato, SCSU, etc. However, UMD doesn't. I know Dorr from Rosevile did commit to UMD last year but, he rescinded his verbal.
My question is simple - does anyone know if UMD has their eyes on anyone else? Any info would be great. Thank you.

Rob Bordson committed to UMD, also I've heard that they now do not want him playing another year of Juniors and he will be a bulldog as of the 07-08 season (could be wrong, but that's what i've been told by a few different sources)...also to go along with upperleft's comment, i've heard that UMD has been showing interest in Duluth Marshall's Jack Connolly, although not sure how much[/quote]
Thank you to all
Hello and good evening -
I appreciate the updates from everyone. It looks like the Dogs are focused a lot in the northern boys! That is OK with me, as long as they help turn that program around. Thank you again to all the posts. Much appreciated.

explains alot
If that is what UMD is looking at,,then they will continue to be near the bottom of the WCHA. The only 2, that are legitimate, would be the Youso and LeBlanc kids, and here I thought Sandelin's strength was his recruiting?
I'm a huge gopher hockey fan, but pay for a portion of tutition at UMD for my daughter and would like to see that money I provide for her season hockey tickets have a little more value.
So let's go pick it up DOGS!
I pull for the Bulldogs Women's Soccer team in the fall - SO GO DOGS!
KICK THE MAVERICKS
better luck next year in hockey, Daughter loves the school and town.
ps - for those of you foreign to soccer it is a simple game. If it moves, kick it! if it doesn't move, kick it until it does!

Something drastic needs to happen with the Bulldog program if they expect to get back to the NCAA's. I like the fact that they are focusing more within the state of Minnesota. Lets hope they utilize these recruits. Its tough to see a kid like Mitch Ryan leave the team, but I am guessing frustration played a part. He tore it up at Cloquet & duplicated those efforts with Waterloo, but its tougher to score in the WCHA, especially from the bench.

Did you hear this from a reliable source or is this a rumor that got to you after 25 people heard it before you. (I'm not accusing you, just wondering)shooter57 wrote:coach Sandelin has invited John Stampohar Hibb/Chis to visit and talk future.......
Stompahar is a good player and was quite impressive this year. He is a big (i believe in the whereabouts of 6'4")power forward but with lots of stick skills too.

Hello and good evening -
Any ideas out there what UMD might do as far as bringing a couple more players in next year with the departure of Raymond and Niskanen to the pro ranks?
Fun to speculate...but, they do need to add a D for sure. Maybe Foss from Moorhead or Sam Carr from Roseau??

Lets hope UMD can get LeBlanc, Jake Johnson, Yuso and Gutch. I have seen everybody play out of the group above but Leblanc, Jake Johnson, Yuso and Bobby Gutch are the top four in my opinion.upperleft wrote:I have heard that UMD has expressed interest in the following Minnesota players:
Drew LeBlanc/Hermantown
Anthony Decenzo/Hibbing
Jake Johnson/Denfeld
Keegan Flaherty/D. East
Rob Johnson/D. East
Joe Arbour/D. East
Ben Leis/D. East
Jake Yuso/I. Falls
Bobby Gutch/D. Marshall

Re: explains alot
Are you serious have you ever even see the others play because those are all very good hockey players with D1 careers.FAQ22 wrote:If that is what UMD is looking at,,then they will continue to be near the bottom of the WCHA. I believe that Decenzo, Gutch, Flaherty, Jake Johnson, and Rob Johnson are all better than Youso. Those 5 I think could actually do well, if they all committ to the dogs. That would be nice to see.

According to Chris Heisenberg's 2008 Hockey Recruit Page Grun will be arriving in Duluth for the 2008-2009 season so it would appear that he will be at Sioux Falls in the USHL for one more season.wbmd wrote:Anyone have any information on Grun yet?wbmd wrote:Is White Bears' David Grun still going to end up at Duluth? Or will they have him play a second year at Sioux Falls in the USHL?
