Puffy was removed from the FSN pre and post game shows on FSN for comments made about the officiating on Saturday night which was overheard by the referee. It's about time someone on the gopher coverage get something for talking about the refs. They spend so much time on it the coverage is hard to watch listen to. I have never heard cover spend so much time on officials. Friday and Saturday night have change from watching the gophers to watching other college match up on the dish. I here it 5 nights a week from TomAzz

I know it is not youth hockey but...

, I don't want here it when I watch a game at home. Yes I am an official, but the gopher coverage (radio and tv) seem to be the only one overly concerned with what the officials are doing.

He wasn't "ousted", he left. Monson=ousted. Mason=ousted. Wacker=ousted.HockeyRocks1 wrote:I hear Wooger is a great guy but he's still bitter about being ousted 5 years ago. Lucia is a great coach and Woog need to shut up or acknowledge it.
From the April 9th, 1999 "Red Star" Tribune....... "University of Minnesota men's hockey coach Doug Woog ended his 14-year tenure Tuesday, resigning as coach to become an assistant athletic director at the university." If I remember right, he left when his son came to the U to play. Although he wasn't winning any championships either.
And the refs deserved a blasting after saturday nights melee. Ben Gordon was LAYING ON HIS BACK and got punched 5x. At first I was ok w/ his DQ because maybe the refs didn't see it all, but then I saw the replay where the AR was standing right over them. I would have gone off on them too. I and I was a ref for 12 years.

I know he reports to the ref, but that should be a pretty simple report. I have never claimed the refs were biased, I just think that was a mistake that will cost the Gophers dearly this friday.newSPUDfan wrote:Then you would know that it is not the AR's decision and he can only report what he sees to the ref. Puffy
FSN should stick up for its employees. I remember hearing about some "freedom of speech thing" somewhere back in school. Puffy is giving it to us straight. I find it refreshing. Don't worry about the little kids sensitive ears. They're trash talkin a lot more than we are.
By the way, the refs did stink all weekend.
Hey Denver, join the swim team if you want to take dives.

Dubay is a homer and that's that. His move was classless. There was no need for him to make the comments as the officials walked by. I think that FSN has done the right thing. He would have had plenty of time to make his comments after the refs had gone to the locker room. I am glad that he feels bad for what he did cuase it was uncalled for.
Woog is HORRIBLE. He's a worse color analyst than he was a hockey coach. Dubay, yup he's a homer, but, how thin skinned is a ref for getting pissed cause some media person said something off air? How about this Dubay makes a mistake and loses his job. The ref makes a mistake, gets called on it...Dubay loses his job.
I don't believe it was publically. My understanding was it was in the hallway leading to the ice in the bowels of Mariucci, where a few media people were gathered. I'm not saying it was right but, lose your job over it? Blyleven dropped the F BOMB on the same network. He got suspended, but never lost his job. What Dubay said never even made it on air. Just an observation boblee.
