1A
I've read this forum for several years now and I think there's alot of good information on it.
A few of the section 1A posts that have been on here the last several days, are embarassing.
I have to agree with jetjock that some of the recent posts are not Austin people.
I don't think there are alot of Austin posts, but I'm sure there are alot of readers of this forum, from Austin.
I think Austin has some seniors that are 6 year varsity starters, that have played year round together for 8 years, that want to make it to state once in there high school career.
A little respect please.

The seedings have to be in by 10 AM Wednesday. AL/MW play Tuesday, but I guess some of the coaches could vote before. The details are on the MSHSL website under the 1A bracket area. The seeds are based on several factors, which are listed...not just head to head.jetjock wrote:Now that I had my fun. Seriously, When does the seeding votes take place, before or after the AL/MW game? I thought it was pregame.
So austin 1
MW 2 Split with FBL, Won last meeting, beat AL
AL 3 Tied and beat FBL
FBL 4

Help me out here. Where are these factors listed? I thought it was simply section coaches rankings placed in a vote. Each coach in the section votes on how they feel the teams should be ranked.Twinnesota wrote: The details are on the MSHSL website under the 1A bracket area. They do vote, but the votes are supposed to be based on several factors...

I meant who falls where in the seedings 1,#2,#3...etcWhat do you mean by where do they (Austin) fall?

You are correct jetjock, this thread is for 1A and not AL's schedule. Maybe I'm wrong but I have a feeling the AL and West game will have an impact on the seedings.jetjock wrote:I will jump on the "apologize to RSI" bandwagon.RSI wrote: That's AL's next game, against West. I was attempting, ineffectively, to go to the cliche card, 1 game at a time.
My apologies RSI. I thought the thread read SECTION 1A not Albert Lea's game schedule.
More later, gotta run...

That Bridger post was hilarious. Obviously an AL fan or parent by how quick RSI defends it. The levels people go to.
Jet you have to remember what I tell you. You can't reason with them. South of Owatonna, it is like Arkansas(Jet your wife will enjoy that one). Cousins marrying Cousins. Every AL practice or game is one big family renunion.
I like us at the 4th seed. We were one post away from winning that game Thurs night. I want the first shot at Austin. Then if somehow AL could get by MW, it would be fun to go to state through them. This section is tighter then many believe.
Oh yea, by the way, our first line smoked Austin's second line.

Aw shucks y'all, I guess yer so good, it don't matter.jetjock wrote:Thanks for the good info Twin.
Funny falcon. My wife even laughed.
Being this AL vs. MW game is a big deal.
Where does AL want to be seeded and Why?
Y'all come back next year, now, hear?

PS---you will have to ask the coach where he want to be seeded...
Well ya, obviously. Wow another of my posts thats misinterpreted....and they make perfect sense to me.Obviously an AL fan or parent by how quick RSI defends it

Oh, so it's Austin and Faribo ganging up on AL people, I get it. Although, we are a little too close to Iowa for comfort.
falcons, what's a renunion?

After being enlightened by youse guys, I guess that game against West isn't that big of a deal. Ya gotta beat 'em all right? I'm not totally sold on Faribo at the 4 by the way. If you throw out those 2 fluke games against AL and the other against West, Faribo is the 2.
Gotta go again, busy day...
Children, children, children, remeber in first grade, don't throw rocks at others unless you want them to throw them back. Laugh a little.
My point about the seeds, was they mean very little. The #1 seed gets the bye. Between falcuns barbs, he stated why he wants the fourth seed. I was curious what was so important about the 2nd seed versus the third seed.
The new season starts in sections. There are 4 very good teams there and who knows, Northfield could play Cinderella. The bottom line is, you have to beat two very good teams to go to state. What does the order matter, unless you match up better against certain teams. And one of the great things about athetics, is the best team doesn't always win.
By the way RSI, The Austin Senior Class prefers Cash Gifts.

Just in case that was intended for me. I realize all this is just good natured ribbing and hopefully other realize the same is true of the posts I leave.Children, children, children, remeber in first grade, don't throw rocks at others unless you want them to throw them back. Laugh a little.
True and I realized that a little more clearly after reading one of your earlier posts. Ya gotta beat 'em all. There's really no big difference between a 2nd or 3rd seed, but funny things can happen around seeding time so you want to put yourself in the best possible position with wins. I think for a young team like AL, a 2 or 3 seed would be a nice accomplishment and give them something on which to build for next season. I don't think anybody would have predicted a 2 or 3 for AL before the season started. That said, since AL lost to Northfield at the beginning of the year they still could end up as low as 5. I don't know, maybe it's too late, but I still think the West @ AL game is important to both teams. My point about the seeds, was they mean very little.

Check, cash gifts it is. I'll sure miss those girls...

Jenn's from Arkansas???My wife is from the GREAT STATE OF ARKANSAS

Here I go defending Austin again.
Funny how nobody jumps on New Ulm for running up the score against Waseca. New Ulm has 5 double digit W's, talk about inflated stats. Because of games like that, New Ulm had 2 AP All-State players. Don't get me wrong IMO they're very good players, just not quite All-State caliber.

There goes falcons, trying to stir things up again.falcons89 wrote: RSI, you and I finally agree. Albert Lea should be the 5th seed.
Pack your bags, AL you are coming to Faribault.

p.s. A trip to Faribo wouldn't bother the AL girls, I'm confident they can beat Faribo AGAIN.

Based on the newspaper reports this year, they should probably have gags !!!swiss wrote:since your talking about Faribault just tell the refs to check for mouth guards then Im pretty sure they will have a lot of penalties if there still is a no mouth guard rule but then again all refs sure do wear green for faribault!
