Mahtomedi @ Tartan 1-20-07
Mahtomedi Zephyrs (10-5) plays Tartan Titans (10-5) in a game on Saturday for a big chuck of conference standing. They both have identical records and are both 4-3 in the conference (and will both probably be 5-3 by Saturday). Last time they met Tartan won 3-1, but Mahtomedi has had a breakout year for them beating 5 of the competitors in their section already and probably going into sections with a #1 or #2 seed. Tartan started out looking really good with a pretty easy first part of the schedule they started off 7-1 and since are 3-4.

Tartan
This is a HUGE game for the TITANS, if they wish to get back to there winning ways, they have to come out and dominate the zephyrs. I feel if the Titans can take the body, and work together and NOT HAVE EVERYONE ON THERE TEAM COMPLAINING ALWAYS! that they should come away with the W. But we will see on Saturday, This should be a VBery good game though and i encourage everyone to come watch.

Serious, its getting to the point of...Tartan vs Anyone...Who cares? You lose to Red Wing and So St Paul 9-0 combined. Tartan players keep hyping their games in this board. Guys, look in the stands...NOBODY CARES !!! The opposition has more in attendance than the home team. Hell your Bantam A team outdraws the varsity. Get you S#%T together and play like a team. NO leadership from the Captains at all.

Leadership from the capts? are you someone on the team? or just assume that the capts should be regulating this board? or whats your objective with your statement.....pucknutz wrote:Serious, its getting to the point of...Tartan vs Anyone...Who cares? Ive gone to every East Metro hockey game I can for the past 20 years. Hundreds of them. To pull a slumping team together you need your Captains to step up...LEADERSHIP! PuckNasty07. captains regulating the board??? Maybe they should worry less about the board and more about the game!!! Play the game with intensity, thats all. Not the lazy ass style you guys played against Red Wing and So St Paul.PuckNasty07 wrote:Leadership from the capts? are you someone on the team? or just assume that the capts should be regulating this board? or whats your objective with your statement.....pucknutz wrote:Serious, its getting to the point of...Tartan vs Anyone...Who cares? Nobody's saying Tartan shouldn't play out their season, but one good win does not a season make. It's pretty clear they can't really play with the big boys this season... loss to HM, then drubbed by STA and SSP, also giving up 2 shots short of a state record to an absolutely average (at best) Johnson and barely squeaking by in OT.
I'm not sure what you're seeing that says "section final", the odds are slim and getting smaller by the day. At the start of the season I was with you, I tought they could get that far, but I'll be the first to tell you they've proven me wrong.

Once again another Tartan thread that everyone blows out of proportion. This is just starting to get ridiculous. Pucknutz i undertsand what you mean when teams rely on there captians to bring them together. But, every team slumps. Tartan is going through a big slump right now. They will eventually snap out of it and get back to playing like they did at the start of the year. We will see how they react to last Saturdays loss to South St. Paul against Simley tonight. I was told that Tartans backup is starting tonight. But, maybe that's just a rumor.
I tip my hat to the Titans tonight. Yes Simley isn't that good BUT they had a hot goalie. Tartan could have easily rolled over and played dead...but they dug down and played a really gritty game The score was only 2-1 but the Titans were buzzing. The Simley goalie was outstanding and had a horseshoe firmly lodged in his buttocks. Larsen and Thompson really provided spark. Build on that effort. Nice job boys.

Wood Did play tonight and put in a solid effort. As Pucknutz said Simleys goalie played very well and shut down the Titans who had really good scoring chances. Tartan could have given up after a the 1st when it was 1-0 Simley. They dug down and found a way to put in 2 goals. Well fought battle. There were way too many penalties called. Tartan had about 10 and Simley about the same. Overall good game by the Titans. I'm anxious to see how they do against Mahtomedi on Saturday.

Tartan fans gotta lay off their team for awhile, honestly. You talk about how Tartan could've packed it up down 1-0 in the first period to a 4-11-0 team in Simley. How is this an accomplishment? I guess I fail to see how this is a good game for Tartan. They will get whipped on saturday by the zephs they way they are playing now.Topshelf07 wrote:Wood Did play tonight and put in a solid effort.
