White Bear vs. Roseville 1/13
Moderators: Mitch Hawker, east hockey, karl(east)
Due to a one day bout with food poisoning, Roseville’s Coach Pauletti will turn the reigns over to the assistant staff. Asst Coach Hamre will be on a mission to show that winning coaches need not be hairless little brothers. The starting line will be Dorr, Mueller and Wieck. Mueller and Dorr will feed Wieck in the slot all night long. Wieck finds twine on 3 occasions ending a dry spell that some have called "death valley" earning a headwarmer in the process. Swingliner Larson subs for Brausen, who earns a coincidental game misconduct after a WWF contest with WBs Jake Hanson, and shows that his goal against AHA was no fluke. Johnson, who doesn’t understand the whole ‘Roseville v WBL thing’, finds out that he’s not in Rosemount anymore. Nevertheless, he makes a highlight dish to his linemate Dettling who snipes one at the close of the 2nd period and begins looking for the FSN interview guy. Capistrant, whose dislike for WB is even bigger than he is, finds the net in the closing moments of the 3rd bringing the goals for Roseville to 6. Goals against - TBD.

who_b_dat I think your prediction is very accurate, the key to Roseville winning this game will be getting a lot more shots, um yeah, a lot of more shots

this should be a good game none the less. But the thing that the bears lack is that the previous years almost everyone of those kids grew up playing hockey togethor and for this year it is not the same so the chemistry isn't were it should be. And if and only if they figure that out they should be a great team coming into sections. Also another thing that i heard about them is that most of those kids wouldn't give a s**t about what the captains of the team has to say. What does that do to your team? If they would care, would the bears be better?
Dettling's never going to live that down is heslapshot1 wrote:who_b_dat wrote:Due to a one day bout with food poisoning, Roseville’s Coach Pauletti will turn the reigns over to the assistant staff. Well, WBL's performance against CDH last night creates a conundrum as CDH outplayed Roseville on Saturday. It should be another intense game this Saturday, it seems like these two teams are going in opposite directions. I'm going to guess that Roseville will be fired up because of their poor performance against CDH and WBL will have a letdown from the big win on Thursday so Roseville gets an early jump and holds on to win 4-3.

I agree with wbhockey2 - Although, Sager has nothing to do with it, he actually allows Long to make that decision, why I don't know. I also believe that neither the Junior or Senior goalie has performed in a single game as well as the sophomore goalie. I sure hope they get him back into the rotation as soon as he shakes the cob webs off from his injury. I have heard the players say that they feel more confident with the sophomore goalie in net.

Owen Colette has started for the JV the last two games. He wasn't real sharp against CDH and against Hastings he could have took a nap in the third period. White Bear wins if they can stay out of the box. Hansen is a better player than Mueller hands down. Those going to the game tonight watch the play of Taylor Johnson WBL and Matt Schlugal RSV. Two very good D-men that are a little undersized, but can play. Johnson's play lately has been great and he was sorely missed at the X-cel center the first two games and the 2nd half of the Woodbury game when he was hurt. Aldrich will be rocking.WBLM wrote:Lol Mueller Mr.Hockey. I actually laughed. But im not saying that Hansen will get it for sure either. Anyways, the junior goalie corey has been playing well his last few games, I think he can hold the fort until Owen gets healthy.

Fun game, especially the third period. Scoring went something like this:
Roseville 2-2-0--4
WBL 0-2-1--3
First period:
1. Roseville: Adam Mueller (Zach McGough <might've been another assist on this>)
2. Roseville: Michael Dorr (Justin Capistrant, Joe Effinger)
Second period:
3. Roseville: Matt Schugel (Dorr) pp
4. Roseville: Mueller (Joe Graham)
1. White Bear: Matt Hartmann <missed assists>
2. White Bear: Zach Hansen unassisted
Third period:
3. White Bear: <didn't catch who scored this>
Let's see, WBL almost scored another goal in the 2nd, I didn't see what happened on the shot but Hansen apparently rang both pipes and raised his stick while the WBL section roared and then play continued. WBL scored in the third but the goal was called off because it was ruled that it had been kicked in. There was a stoppage with two minutes to go and when play resumed the timekeeper found the on switch too much of a conundrum and forgot to restart the clock so when play was stopped again they took off about thirty seconds which seemed right. After Roseville's 4th goal White Bear switched goalies from Corey to Vichich.
Roseville continued to mix up their lines, I recall Dorr being on the first line against CDH with Mueller and Brausen, but he was on the 2nd line with Wieck moving up to the first line. In the 3rd period I saw Dettling out there with the first line instead of Brausen.
Things got wide open in the third and both goalies made some good saves, but WBL's third goal looked soft, it came from a bad angle and I thought the goalie should've had it. Roseville almost got an empty netter when Wieck got forced into the corner after springing free and his wraparound attempt got stopped at the pipe by the WBL defense.
Hansen came alive in the 2nd period and from then on I held my breath every time he had the puck in the Roseville zone.
It wasn't as crowded as I expected, but the student sections were making a lot of noise by the third period. And it was good to see OleGreenway again.
