3-2 Century..AL played a lot better then from Tues. but it was still not enough...I thought casanova played somewhat weak giving rebound after rebound up...also the pass right to the player was a bad move....i think shots were in the 20s for both teams.
AL needs to play like this every night and I think they could win ever game they play

Casanova played very well.......I didn't see a lot of rebounds tonight. PP goal, breakaway goal, then he made a mistake on the shorty from Century. It is what it is.
You're right, if AL plays their game like tonight and like against JM, they'll have an opportunity to win all their games. If they play like they did against west, they'll ahve an opportunity to lose all their games.
Still seems as though they could use a finisher.

AL could be right in the middle of it all at the end of the year. However, if they continue to play selfish, undisciplined hockey they will be nowhere near that good. There are too many "heros" skating on that team right now. It is too bad because it has cost them 2 games so far this year and it will cost them more.

Where is everyone playing over the holiday. I know NU is at Duluth Marshall and West is at Fergus Falls. How about everyone else?

Try the link again, it worked for me. The reason you may think it's the same is because of the AL/Richfield tilt is the same for both years.goldy313 wrote:You're right, but your link gives me the brackets I posted. The dang thing starts Wednesday you think they'd update it.
If AL can play like they did against Century, I think they can knock off Richfield and make some noise against TG (assuming they win).
Possible Falls/Lourdes second round is intriguing........I don't see East having much of a chance against I. Falls.

Mankato East was out shot again 52-12. It was only 2-0 after the first period and Lourdes was out shooting East 23-3. Then East got tired and started getting penalties. The Lourdes goalie took a nasty shot from Kolstad, and the goalie was down for at least 15 minutes with a pool of blood on the ice. I heard he got a broken jaw? And Kolstad got a game misconduct. The Goalie didn't have his chin strap on as his helmet just flew off. Both Kolstad and the goalie were playing the puck, it looked like a accident. I hope the Lourdes goalie gets well.

Holiday tournament results
Any results? NU finished with consolation champ in Duluth Marshall. I don't think anyone in this thing had a chance against them. So with there only loss to #1 team I guess they did ok. Anyone else get a chance to knock off a big team? I think West beat Fergus Falls?

Eveleth tourney report for those who are interested
Monticello 6, Waseca 2; Irondale 7, Waseca 3; Marshall 7, Waseca 5
North Metro 2, Marshall 1; Irondale, 4, Marshall 3; Marshall 7, Waseca 5
Both 1A teams held their own against some tough AA competitiion. Monticello is a good, AA-tested team with some oustanding talent. North Metro is solid with two excellent goalies , and Irondale is well-stocked and well-coached.
The Marshall-Waseca game was entertaining. Waseca battled back to take a 4-2 lead but Marshall scored three late goals in the 2nd to take a 5-4 lead. Waseca would not quit and tied the game in the third before Marshall iced it with two late goals.
Marshall outshot North Metro 33-14 but lost, and they outshot Irondale also and lost. Waseca was down only 3-2 to Irondale in the third period, and battled Marshall to a standstill until late in the third.
The old Hippodrome is the best place in Minnesota to watch a hockey game. What a great old hockey venue with a mechanical scoreboard, great ice and goal judges. No place in Minnesota loves hockey like the Iron Range, and the IRC refs let `em play the game.
Waseca's Travis Chadderdon won the shootout in the skills competition with some unbelievable moves that had the Eveleth crowd ooing and ahhing. A player from Monticello won the hardest shot contest with a 94-mph slapper. The skills competition was great.

Right now, without everyone playing each other yet,wild4ever35 wrote:its half way thru the season so what do u predict the section seedings will be?
#1 - West (has beaten AL)
#2 or #3 - Marshall or AL (will have to wait until they play each other)
#4 - New Ulm (close losses to #2 and #3)
#5 - Waseca (improving, with enough offense to upset #1-#4 if they are overlooked)
#6 #7 #8 - East/Austin/Windom (very close between these 3. Let it play out)
#9 - Luverne
#10 - Fairmont
#11 - Redwood Valley
#12 - Sleepy Eye
Will change as there are more head-to-head matchups of the closely grouped teams. The second West/AL game will be a huge determining factor come final seeding time. AL/Marshall need to play yet. The second NU game in Marshall will be big as well. Waseca could throw a wrench in everyone's plans with an upset or two along the way.
