I agree completely, at the high school level winning carries a level of importance, and any parent that complains about playing time to a coach at this level should be givin a time out, But when you see coaches of rec teams with 1st and second year players talk about "going for the win" it just makes me sick because that coach is doing more to ruin hockey for kids than anything. As for High School hockey, girls or boys, I think that as a parent all I can do is ask that a coach why something happened, and if i get an intellegent answer, even if i don't agree with it, that should be good enough. To me it's the kids job to bug for more playing time and the coach should be able to tell the kids what he or she has to to get more ice time

where are the good womens Hockey coaches going to come from? I look at your program at Simley and I can see how it was built, I look at South St. Paul, Roseville, Holy Angels, and others and can see where there success comes from. So many schools don't seem capable of building the programs like this. My daughters school can't even tell the parents who does the website and yet simley has found the magic lamp with it's website---communication while others find themselves wondering who to call to find out when this weeks games are

What I found was that the time spent developing a site with all info. parents need (& maintaining an email list) was far worth it relative to the time/headache of not doing this and having to constantly answer questions/disseminate info. other ways, or deal with the confusion.hockeygod wrote:where are the good womens Hockey coaches going to come from? My kids/paretns actually get sick of how much info. I send! I've sent about 100 emails to the list already, and they will get about 300-350 total by year end. This ranges from info. as to how many periods kids are playing in the JV/V games the next day, to general updates, to links to media stuff, etc., etc. It's also nice to have kids/parents on the same page. Avoids a lot of drama.
