Class of 2010

A few other skaters who should have big freshman years - each played last year at the HS level as 8th graders and based on watching them play U16 AAA, CODP, OS over the summer they will be big impact players:

Maggie Pendleton - LW/LD - Woodbury in 05/06 now 9th grader at Cretin - strong, tall, fast, good shot and sees the ice very well
Lisa Tuuri - LW/C - Woodbury in 05/06 now 9th grader at Stillwater - great speed will be a big addition to Stillwater's already talented program
Kari Lundeberg - RW/RD - Woodbury is '91 and was at Mankato last summer - great athlete
Christina Larson - LW - Anoka - very good hands and scorer speed improves will be very good
Christine Schendel - RW/RD - NSP - is '91 was at Mankato last summer
Mary O'Brien - Center/RW - NSP - pure speed and great scorer

Once again ghshockeyfan has redefined the true sports attributes. One girl entirely overlooked is Aly Haslerud from Kennedy. I had a chance to see her play Showcase this summer against some of the best players in the state and she overachieved in both games I saw. She can also play D & F and witha team with so little depth she will score 40 points

Aly has improved greatly these past few years. Very dedicated kid that loves the game. She is actually the class of 08 and is currently a Jr. I do think it will be tough for anyone to score 40pts in the lake as only 12 did it last year. Interestingly, the #4 (Ludwigson 32g), #6 (Stoa 31g), #8 (Feste 25g), & #15 (Jacka 19g) GOAL scorers in the Lake last year all played at Kennedy at one time - and, it could very well happen that Stoa/Feste/Ludwigson will not only play together on the same team, but on the same LINE once again as they did as 7th/8th graders years ago. Best of luck to anyone trying to stop them if this does indeed happen!

Ludwigson's 32 goal total at Kennedy was pretty amazing last year by the way. She has to be one of the best female athletes I've ever seen. I am biased.

Easily one of the top 9th grade D, if not THE top one in the state.

Haven't yet seen her, but have herad about her. Many say she's amazing too. I've also heard talk about a player from Woodbury too, but have yet to see her either.

Marcotte also had a great D partner named Cassie Vennemann over at the U16 AAA level in Hudson. She's a sophmore this year, but is truly a great defenseman as well.

The Woodbury D is probably Maggie Pendleton she is 5' 9" sees the ice very well and plays smart hardly ever draws a penalty - she was a forward up until December when Woodbury HS converted her to the point. She is now in 9th grade at Cretin and should add depth to either forward or defense. I think Cretin only played 3 defense last year and all are returning.

Two other top 9th graders afrom Woodbury are Lisa Tuuri and Kari Lundberg. Tuuri has open enrolled at Stillwater and will add to an already very strong team.

I've heard of the Venneman girl. And the others from Woodbury have been mentioned too.

Woodbury has developed more top level talent than I think most realize.

Bree Battis - Simley F

Post by ghshockeyfan »

Bree Battis - Simley F - thru 7 games - has scored a point or more in each game we've played so far even though entered the season with a soccer knee injury - NDP Phase 1 kid last year as an 8th grader:

Dad is a UST alum and younger sister (7th grader Natalie) will likely be a top D in the future (injured right now).

I'm familiar with these two to some degree. Therrien is going to be one of the best players in the state by the time she's a senior in my opinion. She played on a team I "coached" in a fall league this year and she can play both F & D very well. Great kid too. Keep an eye on this one.

Both speedy players down at mankato '91, & both working hard for their current varsity teams. Should be fun watching the class of 2010 '92's i.e. Bree Battis, Marcotte etc.

New Prague Youth

Post by hockeyfinatic »

#14 Brooke Bartelt - Freshman Defense
#16 Hallie Paschke - 8th Grade Forward
#8 Sam Lijewski - 8th Grade Forward

All of them are seeing a regular shift on New Prague's Varsity this season and have potential to be great players down the road
