Hey, Why don't you guys make a list of AA teams that have never made it to the BIG SHOW and never will? There are a lot of teams in both classes that would get beat by a lot of other teams in both classes! S<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o"> S

agreed gracehockey had the AA elitist's ventured out to see Totinno and Warroad Saturday afternoon they would have hands down seen the best game of the tournament and believe me that is not a knock on the other games. You kids deserved a full house. People, the reason most people don't care about the class A tournament is because there is some absolutely ugly hockey played in it. Did anyone that is praising the championship game (which was very good and I was pissed about the way it ended on a power play) actually watch the quarter finals? Horrible, horrible games. There were some very very bad teams in that tournament, so when people look at the champions when that is all over, it doesn't look like the accomplisment winning the AA tournament does. The product isn't the same. If the kids "deserved" a full house, it would have been a full house.

Speaking of ugly games........ the Elk River game in the quarter finals was one of the best displays of hockey at it's ugliest that I have ever seen. Both A and AA have ugly games.......... SectionFan

So what is your point? Is that an argument for two classes or against it? I'm just glad every player in the state gets a ribbon of participation. Maybe we should stop keeping score so no one is a loser.

I agree, and it happened between two of the weakest teams in the tournament, but what was the score? 4-3. Here are the scores from the A quarter final games: 8-2, 6-1, 5-2, 9-2 The class AA quarterfinal scores: 3-2, 3-0, 3-2, 4-3 Does anything strike you as odd about the comparisons?

Warroad could handle themselves just fine in AA or vs. any AA schools. There rich hockey tradition and the way they play, they could give a run to be one of the top teams in the state every year. They wouldn't be at the state tournament every year, but they would be one of the top teams. Year and year they put out very impressive teams. They know how to win; and they continue to win. #1 - The state screwed up when they allowed schools to move up or down to A or AA. #2 - Teams that have been to the "SHOW" know what its like to play for one championship. #3 - Warroad has been there and it puzzles fans why they settle for less! Really, we acknowledge the Class A Champs, but when talk is about 2005, AHA will be mentioned as State Champs. #4 - The argument that Warroad will be down after this year is mute, as no team is going to be "at the top" always, ala Roseau the past few years. #5 - The State screwed with the best one class State Tournament in the USA

Simple at its best: Slappy... All I watched was your posts from before the tourny a bout Moorhead and the the gods they were going to be when the win the tourny.... well jump on the Warroad train then... your amazing! anyway... Listen, Im Originally from section 8 area and understand the Northern way. In 82 our team made it to state for the first time in 10 years... it was a great time, though we lost both games... 2 and out! We had a solid club for a couple years, and after that other teams started to rise. If Warroad would have been AA I think they would find themselves in a situation much like Roseau. When your hot your hot, and when your not, well nobody talks about you! Its the old saying "big fish in a small pond or Small fish in a big pond?" Me personally... I'd rather be that small fish... with a chance... I got my one chance, and didnt succeed at the state level... But at least it was my chance with the big boys... not playing what I consider Minor hockey! -The SLinger

I hope that I am not stepping into the middle of something, BUT I don't think anyone can say that Warroad would have won at the AA class tournament this year for sure, nor do I think anyone can say,for sure, that Warroad wouldn't have won. I also think it is pure stupid for anyone to think that all AA teams are better then all A teams . That may fly in other sports, but not hockey. I will also say that for anyone to compare A/AA hockey to Bantam A/B is nuts. I don't think you will ever hear anyone say that the state bantam B winner could take the bantam A tournament.
