Re: 4A
thanks oldschool. I just can't figure this team out. I haven't been to any games yet, which is sad, but from what I hear from pretty much everyone is that there's no consistency whatsoever. Besides Waklawick and maybe LaPlante and Schwartz, it fluxuates quite a bit. I don't understand how they can compete so evenly with the likes of Roseau, EGF, and Greenway, but get blown out by LF and lose again to Wadena.
The injury bug worries me too. We were lucky in my days, as none of our stars got hurt seriously. It seems this year that important players are getting hurt. Its not an excuse, just one of those things that you can't control. Hopefully their defensive core will be healthy by sections, because that's this team's strength, and without it, they will go nowhere.
I don't know coach Donahue's style, but his goalie rotation sure seems sketchy. Why you would sit your starting goalie, who just had a good game, put in your backup, who then has a good game (40 saves) and then start your other goalie again in the next game is beyond me.
I still think this team has the talent to win sections, but so do WDC and LF. This year, like others have said, is more wide open than ever. I wouldn't be surprised at all if one of the "Big Three" doesn't make it to Alex for the semi's.
Scheids
(A legend in his girlfriend's mind.)

Re: 4A predictions
jiggs i wont call you names cause my feelings are still hurt from you doing that to me, but under your thinking if little falls played dl again you would get slaughtered again? You guys just haven't caught on to the bad game theory. How about the 9to 1 brainerd game? then you almost beat them in over time, do you suppose that a team besides little falls could lose a game to someone from a terrible effort and compete with the same team in the next game? Im still giving the edge in that next game to falls because they are a good team however im thinking you'll be on the edge of your seat in this one. Hey scheids good to see you posting!

Puck I'm sorry I hurt your feelings and I hope you feel better soon. My mom would be ashamed of me. Anyway the game with Wadena should be allot of fun and hopefully both teams play well. Do you feel better yet?:<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">

Crow Soup
No I won't come back under another name I can take the heat. WDC's goalie will get peppered any time they play LF. Also.....Wait you guys lost your undefeated season last year in your building against us<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:">
warroadsalt you're funny too.

Re: 4A predictions
Talked to a couple of the Fergusplayers and Schwarz back hopefully before the game on thursday against DL. If not then, hopefully have him back by the weekend. Kronemann is a possiblity for the weekend. Have no idea how long the starting goalie Swenson is out for. Last he had the same injury and was out for the first third of the year.

section 4
well, you play awesome to begin on saturday, then stumble to an OT loss, then tonight..............:

as you have read earlier, the first period saw bemidji score every goal possible and Sam Kalar got pulled, well,

.............this time you guys thought to finish the game..

Fergus Falls scored in the second to make it 3-1, but Bemidji scored too, no score in the third, Bemidji 4, Fergus Falls 1.....Coach Donoghue thought they played hard the whole game, must have: shots Fergus Falls 40, Bemidji 21.......untill Swendson gets well, Vennerstrom is the man.........nice effort without starters Mike Schwarz and Kyle Kronnemen as well.............
just goes to show you that you HAVE to play 51 minutes to win a game...........not 49.5...........51........
anyways, lets see if they can put it together and show Detroit Lakes that last time was just a fluke........
Fergus Falls, 7-8-1.....................

Correction
Don't mean to nitpick at things but Joe Kalar, not Sam Kalar got pulled. They're twins, Joe's the goalie and Sam's the Defenseman.

All in all I didn't think Joe played too terriblly (sp?). The 1st one, shorthanded, #16 for Bemidji was given some free space @ the top of the circle and sniped a shot top corner. Granted he could've had it, but it might've been a screen. 2nd one was a scuffle in front of the net and he made 2 or 3 saves before the puck was put away. The 3rd one he probably should've had, a short breakaway that was put 5-hole. Mike hasn't pulled away as the interim starter yet, in case you don't remember the roseau game he let up some questionable goals too. Neither are as good as Swenson, but I wouldn't put either one of them above the other.

Just a quick note on the other Kalar, Sam. He has done a very nice job filling in back at the blue line for the otters. He's a tall, but very thin guy, but he's been putting his body in front of people and breaking up some plays. Not as skilled as the others, but works hard and gets the puck through traffic in the offensive zone when shooting, which many of the other fergus D can't seem to do on a consistent basis. They have rocket shots but can't get them to the net.

Re: Correction
a decend team will have a off night on occasion, looks like all the top 10 in a and double except warroad have had one. So being 100 something over all, wadena had one. Players missing ect what the heck you are baiting me into this one so ill concede little falls should win buy 10. hehe

Re: section 4
Ya Puck thats just what Wadena needs. Get Festler and Leikteig all wound up and your 10-0 prediction will become reality. Even if Wadena improves their game there is no way Wadena's defense is going to shut these two down and you can take that to the bank.

Hopefully all the healthy guys can stop all of those goals (6) or score some more goals than the did (zero, for the record, hehehe)

4A
IM NOT SURE BUT I DON'T THINK WADENA IS SCARED OF FESTLER OR LICKTIDE. YES THEY ARE GOOD PLAYERS BUT WADENA HAS TWO PLAYERS OF THEIR OWN TO MATCH THOSE TWO AND MORE. THESE PLAYERS JUST NEED TO STEP AND IT UP AND WADENA WILL MAKE IT A GAME<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

ok
seasons almost done. if wadena wins out they could still possibly get the #1 seed, but more than likely it looks as #1 will be little falls, followed by wadena and then fergus. cant wait for playoffs!

seedings
since the season is over next week, what do you guys think the seedings will be?

section 4
We pretty well already know the seedings:
#1 Little Falls has not lost a section game and is 4-0 in the top 4 contenders (including Willmar)
#2 Wadena Deer Creek lost to Little Falls, has had some hard games but beat Fergus and Willmar, however has played more section games, tiening Sauk Centre and beating them........in top 4 they are 3-1.........
#3 Fergus Falls Beat Willmar handily and gave Wadena the game that will be the deciding factor in why they are 3 and Wadena is two.....doesn't really matter anyway but it could considering Wadena's tie with Sauk Centre, that will mean that they or Fergus could meet a decent game that should be a 5-6 goal spread instead of the perverbial 11 goal game in the past.........
#4 Sauk Centre is playing good enough in my mind to get the #4 seed in tieing Wadena but strength of schedule will put them in this spot or lower....
#5 Willmar...the only reason they will be this high is because they play in the central lakes conference and not in the whatever its called that Morris Benson is in...
#6 Morris Benson....much improved in combining schools as are Sauk Centre and LOng Prarie, has shown some decent schools some nice games this year possibly could cause some noise as well as Sauk Centre......
#7 and #8 CIA and Pequote Lakes....does this section have this many teams anymore??????????????they should combine anyway...............

Flyers year
The seeding listed by oldschool appear to be correct with the exception of Willmar they will be #4. The Flyers need to shake this late season swoon and get back to playing the caliber of hockey that they played during the mid-season. Time to look around boys, no clear favorite in this section and with your talent, anything less than section champ has to be a let-down. It's time to realize this is your year to begin the state tournament tradition in LF and leave 2005 as your legacy. section 4
Fergus Falls 5, Detroit Lakes 2....................
Finally Fergus Falls has a game that is to expectations....hasn't really happened in a while.....offense was clearly ahead, and defense stingy in front of yet another new face in the net, Fandrich or something like that playing in his first Varsity game, shots, Fergus Falls 38, Detroit Lakes 22.....oh yeah, I almost forgot, with the win Fergus Falls clinches their Holiday Hockey Classic for the first time in a couple years, man, this has to be the longest tournement in the history of it<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> ............
anyway, nice way to start good, jumping to a 2-0 lead, then 2-1, but 3-1 and 4-1........5-2 final and they can finally finish off a good game, nice job boys...... keep it up, and get ready for the section playoffs..............Mike Schwarz is back, scoring also Mic Johnson scored.....
Fergus Falls 8-8-3..........
Oh yeah, puckstopshere.... I have been watching Willmar a little, not too much because every time I see their score or record they stink....I don't know how you can put Willmar (6-1 losses to Wadena and Little Falls...) over Sauk Centre,(5-1 and a tie against Wadena) looks to me like Willmar has been completely dominated by section opponents this year and Sauk has at very least learned how to skate with one of the favorites..
