Re: 4A predictions
Is The Blind Girls Academy still in section 4A? If they are, I pick them as the early favorite<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Just kidding of course. Fergus Falls is my pick in 4A but don't expect much out of them or whoever wins 4A in St. Paul.

The favorite is obvious, but don't count out Little Falls. It was proven last year and forever it will be that Fergus Falls IS NOT immortal to section 4a.........Fergus rebuilds for another year, storms the section tourney under new coach Donaghue and is the dark horse at the state tournement..............top 4 seeds Fergus Falls, Little Falls, Willmar and Wadena..........Sauk Centre will give wadena a run for the top four but are still years away from even starting to be serious.......

Re: 4A predictions
hey puckster i agree on the ability to do much at state for section 4, but i do disagree on your pre season fav. Wadena is still my pic for one more year. They won all games in peewees and bantams against fergus and little falls and alot of games were by a few goals. The seniors and jr's im speaking of. The goal tending is young this year but im guessing they will have the top defensive team in section 4.They all spent alot of time in the gym this summer we'll see if it pays off.

Re: 4A predictions
I pick Wadena as well. But this year I think they'll go 2 and out again and give the 2A champ a chance to actually win a game at state, where they will eventually be trounced.

Re: 4A predictions
Little Falls should come out on top in 4A and should be the team to beat for the next few years. Willmar and Fergus Falls round out the top of 4A. Wadena's tank is empty.

I have to believe that Fergus Falls will be the team coming out of 4a. I think that little falls will be all right but i dont think the have a goalie that can bring them to state. I agree that Wadena's tank is empty. It will be a tough section tourny but look for fergus to on top.

Re: 4a
my question for fergus...is who is going to lead them to a section championship? they dont have much offensively, and little falls has the most offense with festler and lickteig i would say. but wadena i would say will have more players than fergus also...fergus will be solid all around, but no standouts like they've had before.

fergus
I agree that fergus will be solid all around and no standouts like they've had before. The last year that fergus went to state i would have to say that they did not have any standouts, they had point leaders but they did not stand out. Fergus will win low scoring games, they have a goalie that can win games and good defence. The offense will come. You say that Little falls has offense, yes they do but who is there goalie. is it Patty Stoy?

Little Fall's goalie is Jake kluver who is actually a very good goalie, but he doesn't do much in the off-season because he is an all around athlete with baseball and football. The top two teams will be LF and Wadena, they both have explosive offenses, should be an exciting section this year.

little falls is about to become the next dominant force in this section...wadena lost too much from last year...festler is going to have a monster year, very good player.....the youth teams in lf have been very good, in the next 5 years they will be the top program if they can keep all the kids that they had on that superstar peewee team...is the stud kid hanowski or whatever his name is stick around?

Re: 4a
synergy44 i agree about littlefslls future good team this year but in 3 or four years they will be on top strongly if everyone stays on board. When a peewee team makes a run at a state title where ther is no a or double a they will rule in "a" high school. Fesler will be exciteing to watch this year as he was last year but the scoring leaders for section4a will be from wadena. Senior Postel will win the title and soph petit will take second, Their schedule is harder this year but still several easy ones these two will light up the points.Petit coming off the Mn selects and postel hs elites will be tough to stop. Cant wait to see that little falls 8 th and ninth grade group get to jrs and seniors and challenge section 8a and 5a for a state title!

postell isn't that great.....petit is a better player and was better than his brother last year and was probably wadena's best player...neu was good, but he is too much of a perimeter guy....festler is the top player in 4a....

???
im not questioning whether/not fergus has some good players, because obviously they do, but if you look at the teams you just mentioned...the kings, the rangers, the oilers, they always had one guy who could take over a game, hence the "great one." but when i look at fergus i see balance, but not as much depth as previous years (they'll have 2 good lines, but the 3rd will be weak), and no one player they can look at to get a goal when they need it. i think this will be one of the weaker years for section 4, not as much talent at any team as previous years i feel. wadena and dl scrimmaged last night, went pretty good. wadena has only 4 lines total...varsity and jv together, so that will hurt. dl had a lot of kids out it seemed. good pace, and pretty physical for a scrimmage as well.

oldschool
oldschool, face it, the fergus dynasty in section 4 is over.....they've had some very good teams in the past, no doubt....but their youth teams haven't been as good and there is no ryan miller, josh anderson, or even chad hopponen or the welle kid.......

section 4a
synergy: The dyansty ended last year and not for another 7 straight years of winnign the section will it be there again.......most of us have gottn' over it, have you?? here's a couple names to remember, Shawn Goos, Vatnsdal..........and, classic, I guess I was wrong, boy, it's a good thing that Miller scored in the game against Totino when the otters needed it, (Fergus lost and miller didn't score) Dan Perry was also in that game, no goals either, as well as Jack Underwood, he didn't score, sucks that all of those guys who you would've thought you could go to for goals just couldn't do it huh???? by the way, I would like to know wich 3rd line of Fergus' was strong, or any average sized team. It is a really good thing that no one told my bantam team back in the day of "never that good so they shouldn't be" we won against Alexandria for the first time ever in to go to regions. most games against Alex were 12-1, 7-1's. Alex brings up another rather interesting subject: why do they dominate so greatly so (more years than not) in the youth levels, but never go to the tourney???? and I don't know what you thought of Chad Hopponen's career, he was good and all, nice hard nosed attitude type, but nothing glorious, surely mic johnson could equal or better his greatness.
What you have in Fergus this year is a largely untested team, you don't know what they are going to do because most haven't played high school, last was building and build they did, there was some excitement, but the lack of leadership showed and they couldn't come through. Mike Donghue has never had this position before, but the little I know of him he is a fit. A very in your face and cockey type that this team needs, we'll see how it works out but if anyhting else, Fergus would be the lesser of all evils to go to the tourney.

what does miller and anderson have to do with this year? they dont play high school hockey anymore my friend. although they were great players, i dont think goos and vatnsdal are miller or anderson caliber. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

fergus
wow, CLASSICELITE, your going out on a limb on that one. why dont we just watch the season and find out who wins. My vote would go to fergus. The other teams lost way to much.

Section 4
Classic: Maybe you should read some of the replies before mine and then realize that they have nothing to do with this year and yes, my friend they do not play high school hockey anymore, do you have issues?????
I never once made a comparison of the promise that Vatnsdal and Goos to the blure that Josh Anderson was and the stick and hard work that Miller had in the Otter uniform. If you don't want this become what last year was, maybe you should tell me why and who on Wadena is going to beat Fergus again and how Little Falls is going to go to state and why WIllmar will never be a power. I do believe that Goos will have an impact this year and his line could make or break the season. Others to watch out of Fergus are Sjolie, Krog and Mic Johnson will likely dictate how the defense handles things, with Joe Johnson out, he or someone will have to step up............enough with the trash talk huh????

trash talk
im not sure where i talked some trash, but that was not the intention. i solemnly have been saying i think every team in this section is weak this year, and i think that anyone can beat anyone on a given night, of the top 4 anyways. im not trying to cause havoc in here, i just wanted you people supporting fergus to explain why they will win is all. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Re: 4A predictions
LF should have a pretty solid team this year with festler lickteig and festlers little brother, jared. who is just as good as lickteig. i think wadena is out of the runnings with only 2 players petit and postel. FF is gunna give LF a run for their money. LF is due to go to state, they've been a goal away the past 3 years. Kluver looked solid in their princeton scrimage lstnight.
