Sports Illustrated

Post by ChrisK »

I'm surprised noone's mentioned it yet, there's an article on the tourney in Sports Illustrated: sportsillustrated.cnn.com/magazine/features/si50/states/minnesota/story/

And as long as I'm posting here, I had a great time last week at the tourney and met some great people: Craig, Mark, joe, Videoscout and his family. It was fun sitting with Craig and his friend Mark on Thursday and Friday. I do think Craig's right, the Moorhead mascot looks more like a brown marshmallow than a potato. On Friday before the AA games I met up with joe lulic and Videoscout at Tom Reids and I'm still bummed that I didn't have time to meet Henry Boucha.

Videoscout and I tried to meet up with metromick, I think it was, at Patrick McGovern's on Saturday but no dice. Instead I got my tail kicked at bubble hockey by Videoscout. And while I really like Tom Reid's place, I might give McGovern's the nod simply because they have a bubble hockey game there. The Irish pub in the Holiday Inn, the Liffey, is excellent. Thanks to Videoscout we scored some great tickets to the championship game and then it was back to the Liffey after the game to rehash another Moorhead loss. At least you could say it wasn't a fluke, Moorhead lost to a quality team and program in Centennial.

So, congrats to Centennial and Breck on their championships and all the teams that played in the tourney this year. We'll have to do this again next year, eh!
