I'm with joe l. on this one. In between the Warroad-Orono & Hibbing-SCC games last night they had a short profile on Henry Boucha and the incident that cost him his career. One of the points he made was that he found it hard to believe that almost thirty years after that incident these kind of things are still happening. <p></p><i></i>

Hey rocket, someday there is going to be a death in an NHL hockey game because of this crap. And when it happens try not to come on this board and talk nonsense about people needing to "tough it up."<br>Last time I checked the rule book it didnt say much about allowing premeditated rage-filled psychos committing acts of violence in a hockey game. Hey Rocket, I got an idea, maybe we should invent equipment to deal with your issue of allowing this crap to take place in an ice hockey game. We can call it the "Halo Helmet" which will prevent guys from breaking their necks from sucker punches while also cushioning the brain from trauma syndromes resulting in concussions. <br>If your not Todd Bertuzzi himself talking on this forum then you must be related to him. I THINK THAT TO CLEAN UP HOCKEY OVER ALL,FROM MITES TO NHL, THE POWERS TO BE AT THE NHL NEED TO MAKE A STATEMENT TO ALL OF HOCKEY, THAT THE SPORT NEEDS TO BE CLEANED UP, BIG TIME!!!! scout,<br><br>i agree with you, but actions as this will continue in the nhl if the root cause isn't addressed. the root cause is intimidation is allowed into the game by allowing fighting. there is only a 5 minute penalty for what many times amounts to an assault. these guys couldn't get away with alot of this crap on the street, they'd be in jail. sure hockey as any game is emotional, etc... people say it is part of the game. this is justification bs, if it is part of the game how come we don't see it at the high school level? it isn't part of the game, it is what allows this bertuzzi bs to be justified as intimidation. plain bs. get rid of fighting in the nhl and we won't see this type of bs. in fact, maybe some of these big uffes will learn how to throw a real check... <p></p><i></i>

What I find interesting is that when this type situation happened with McSorley the Vancouver police were all over the thing and looking for McSorley's blood. .... Now that it has been done by a Vancouver player I don't see the police as adamant about the atrocity of it all.... possible double standard??<br><br>The NHL is in trouble if they let this type of thing continue <p></p><i></i>

First off, not to be picky, but PASH2, Domi's first name is splled Tie, not Ty. Secondly, I'm slightly confused on something. When Johnson delivered the sucker punch to Bukeboom (spelling, not sure,) if I understand right, that shot basically ended Bukeboom's career. Johnson got 12 games. Now, when Todd does this, he gets the rest of the regular season, playoffs, and is questionable for next year. As I have read, Steve Moore will be back on skates in 4-6 weeks, however I don't know if that's relivant or not. Even if that's not true, we all know that Moore will be back eventually. I think this is an interesting compharison. Guy essentially ends another guy's career, gets 12 games, guy does the same thing, everyone knows the recipient will return, and it's unknown how long the instigator will be out. Maybe it's just the league giving stiffer suspensions, but I don't know. Don't get me wrong, Todd deserved a suspension, but just thought I'd throw a theory into play. <p></p><i></i>
