MVPs

Post by 4checker »

They all have one more game to stand alone, for now I'd say each remaining team has 2 or 3 contenders.
My $.02
Moorhead - Loos, Deutz, Becker
Cent. - Anderson, Stutz, Gorowsky
Orono - Dynan, Ylitalo
Breck - Dee, Wheeler
Most of these guys were supposed to be THE MAN for their teams before the tourney began. Think they have all performed pretty well.

MVP

If SSP wins the Thrid Place game, my vote goes to Stalock. I know they always give the award to the winning team, and there are deserving candidates on Breck and Orono, but Stalock turned in what may go down as the best golatending performance in Tournament history. He's my winner.

I agree. Stalock should be rewarded for that performance yesterday. I'm sorry that today's game isn't televised. I would sure like to see him play again today. I taped the game yesterday and watched it again last night and it's just as much fun to watch the second time around.

benc14---i think youre wrong...

Post by grman45 »

benc14---
you do have a good point...that is usually how it goes but i believe this year is different...i think gifford of moorhead or gorowsky of centennial win it for AA no doubt in my mind the winning team will have on of those players be MVP...and for A how can it not be the SSP goalie...he made somewhere near 40 saves and he played the puck better than most forwards/defensemen in the state....if people are looking at this kid for D1 they are lunatics...This kid saved himself 30 more shots by playing the puck he did...he should be the A MVP!

STUTZ

Post by hockeyfan88 »

I think stutz should easily get the MVP. first goalie in history to get 3 shutouts. and they were against #2 Moorhead #3 AHA and #4 wayzata. UNBELIVABLE Stalock of SSP didnt spectacular also. No wheeler

I agree the award could go to Stutz, but the overall team defense was simply amazing. This kid had to make a few big saves each night but the team simply shut down three offensive powerhouses.

Alex Stalock

Every year we leave the tournament with great memories, but each year there is one game/player that we wont forget, this year it is Alex Stalock's spectacular performance against Breck in the class A semi's, and his aggressive style that we have never seen before.

just to set the record straight, AHA did not score. Game ended 2 - 0. I was there I saw the replay, and I saw it in the net, but the people that matter most did not see it that way.
Let it go....

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... >Zamman at: 3/14/04 5:29 pm

Thank god for Zamman

I appreciate your perspective on that Zamman- too bad many others won't let it die. They forget how hard it is to make a split second decision, i had to watch the replay over quite a few times myself.

Why not congrat the kids of AHA for a great season and for beating MANY good teams to get to state and putting up an awesome fight, losing only to the STATE CHAMPS-

Personally I felt that game was the championship but didn't want to say anything that would jinx us.

Have a great off season and see ya next year. Lord knows you will have yet another great team then too.
