Scott Reddy is a good guy and a good coach. He has they worst team ever he had no talent not even jacque lemari could coach them. he has 3 children undfe the age of 6 . so truthfully he is resigning so he can coach his kids and be with them more.

Housley

As much as I would love to see Housley coaching HS hockey... I would hate to see him go to sibley. Werent So. St. Paul and Sibley bitter rivals when Housley played?

That would be like Henry Boucha taking the coaching job at Roseau.

I don't think talent was the major factor in this year's outcome. I've watched Sibley hockey for around 20 years, and I have never seen a team that plays that poorly. This year's team was an embarrassment. It wasn't for lack of talent. Several players on the team could have emerged as leaders, but nobody did, and rather than play coheisively, they played separately, and without any real superstars, they crumbled. The team never seemed coheisive from day 1. I saw that the goalies had a lot of talent, and they had a few guys who could score, they just had no leadership.

Their coach is a great guy, I'll never say otherwise. But I know the whole feeder system, and several of the levels have alumni coaches. They all say more of the kids from the system would go to Sibley with a new coach. All of them said that. I've heard grumblings for a few years now that they needed a new coach to keep players in the system. He was a good forwards coach, and they went to the state tournament with him as such. Since his move to head coach, the program has slipped quite a bit. There has been an endless procession of assistants, even those he picked from his former teams quit. The parents have had various levels of unrest culminating with this season. He was always one who played according to politics, and tried to create superstars rather than letting them create themselves. For instance the goalies, despite the dismal record, towards the end of the season, he barely ever gave the backup goalies a chance. When they played, they had solid games, but were then benched. It is like this year after year, every position. Bottom line is he is not a great coach.

They need better, they deserve better. Thanks to him for finally stepping down. They need one of their old greats to come back and coach. Either that or hire a former Gopher who misses the game.

I don't see them hiring someone from SSP. It has always been a bitter rivalry, and I doubt that would change.
Puckster

www.wildpuck.com

I've heard the same thing. Housley to Stillwater. Nice set-up for both.
