Re: USA International Hockey Cup - Looking for teams

At the 98 level is the Thunder Bay Thunder from last year playing in the tournament this year under the same name or a different name? Weekend 1 - June 7-10 Boys Invite 04,03,02,01,00,99 Invite 04' - 2 teams Invite 03' - 2 t...

Fred nice job on the articles, well written and very accurate. PL game still hurts a week later  ERPWA - That was a great defensive game. Score was 0-0 and shots were 9-7 after 2. Our boys would put up 25 shots + after 2 routinely on teams. Many times it was worse, never mind the score. That s...

Not so sure I agree with the reinstatement. What's the message being sent here? That if it's an important event like the state tournament that you don't have to serve your penalty? If someone has enough pull you can have your penalty overturned? Look what happened with the BSM kid. He gets kicked o...

If this is the QUALITY of play are looking for then join Showcase, better value at lower price. These are not even open level teams outside the top two or maybe three teams. Yes the alliance has had an impact on Quailty teams playing in tournaments like this. This tournament has no AAA level teams ...

This season, three kids with offers to play quit the 95 Machine because they were burned out. Despite multiple offers from other teams, none of these three are playing on AAA teams this spring. Burn out really does happen. You will not see it until the kids get to be 12-14 years old. Be careful. An...

I'm not a fan of Showcase - our team had many not so pleasant conversations wtih the owner - can't rememeber his name off hand - his Family grew up in St. Louis Park - enough said and for Minnesota Made. last year at the Hockey Expo my kid posted the best time for the age group and won a free clini...

Re: Choice Mite League: Parents Review
This was a "hot" topic last Fall. Allot of opinions from all sides. With 4 weeks remaining in the season I would be interested in hearing feedback from parents that are involved in the program. Tell us about the program? Tell us about the coaching? Tell us about the practices? Tell us abo...

what sick is the expectation put on little kids and the FACT that little johnny has to attend to be the next one. No sick minded in the context you were putting it in was naming a hockey team of U10 or U12 girls after a slang term for the female genitalia. You spoke nothing of expectations put on l...

adding the two new teams is all about the $...without making the $ the Machine and Deuce will go bye-bye...hopefully he can make it work to keep things going for the people that want to be part of his program...but there is no way he can have the same expectations for the talent level on the Sniper...

Re: 98 Snipers and Grinders
Does anyone know if MM was able to roster a 98 born Snipers and Grinders teams?...in other words, have they found enough kids to participate? Tryouts were over MEA in October. If there are spots left, it’s only by those that are on the fence about doing it. Payments have already been sent in and th...

Re: Changing Landscape
theref- absolutely agree! There are some who love to give lip service by saying how much they appreciate all those volunteers and what they do for the association (and it makes them look so honorable) but then give the compliment a backhand by saying, in essence, "that you just aren't good eno...

Re: Backyard Hockey Rinks
There was a book on the topic of home rinks. Can't remember the title. The author was from New England. He recalled fond memories of the rink he created in his backyard and the experiences that his family and friends had with it. In the book, the author wrote about touring parts of the northeast, u...

No problem. I'm just sick of what I read on this site about Bernie. How minor incidents can turn into large fish stories is amazing.Mister Hockey wrote:I am happy that your boy is having a good time. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks a lot

Re: Weekend at Bernies...Must Read
This is what I heard through the grapevine happened at the new mite program at Minnesota Made. I guess the parents are not allowed to cheer when their player scores a goal in a scrimmage or game. That the owner belittled two volunteer coaches in front of their teams telling them that they are terri...
